Power Package

I have a tendency to roll the wrists a bit on the backswing, and then having to lift the club into position, and although you don't hit the ball with the backswing that's just extra stuff I don't need.

I saw a video about the power package, and despite my girlfriends excitement out of confusion I'm sure, I'm thinking of giving it a try. It appears to address the setting of the wrists on the backswing exactly.

What do others think of this training aid, or any other drills / recommendations for this swing flaw?

I think you should change your intent about your takeaway a bit. Unless you have a crazy strong grip, think about getting the clubface to match your spine angle half way back and to do that all you have to do is bend the right wrist back. Don't think about hinging your left wrist up or getting the toe up..imo that is what gets people rolling their wrist.

This is an extremely effective training aid for me. I cross the correct plane line several times throughout the swing, before I finally drop it under prior to impact. This device had me on plane from start to finish, which felt awkward until I got used to it. I've only had it for a week, but went from practice swings with my 8 iron, to placing it on a backup driver last night. I'm able to hit balls in my net return with it on with my driver, but not at 100%. The video's look fantastic and completely different from where I normally have the club in various positions in the swing. In addition, I have more arm structure at the top, which is always an issue for me. in short, I've tried everything to get on plane, including the Explanar, which is now folded and in my garage. I take three practice swings and then hit a ball, and then repeat. Also, I switch between the device, and a club without the device, every 5-10 minutes to ingrain the feeling. I'm very excited to work with the Power Package regularly moving forward. BTW- I'm a 3.5 hdcp.
