Titleist Adapter

I think we can agree these adapters are not the same!? The one on the left is from my 917F2 3 wood. The one on the right is on a shaft i just received yesterday from a member here. I have reached out and explained the adapter is different and will not fit in my head. He claims they are all the same, clearly not the case! I offered to text him pics and he has been on line but went silent on me.

 

I hate to give someone negative feedback and will give him time to make this right before I do, but I feel I got dooped here.

 

Does anyone know what the one on the right fits??

The one on the left is for a Titleist fairway wood. The one on the right is for a Titleist driver. Which do you want to put the new shaft in? Removing and swapping adapters is not that difficult....

And that is what I ordered from him Evenflow 6.0 FW shaft at std Titleist 3 wood length.

 

He made a mistake, it happens. But at least own up to it and make it right. At the very least send me the proper adapter and a few bucks to pay someone to remove and install the new one.. I don't want to pull the one from the Diamana shaft as I want to test it side by side with the Evenflow.

More specifically the one on the left is for the 913 and later fairways. The 910 fairways used the same adapter as the drivers.

 

So that it was listed as a Titleist fairway shaft or as having a Titleist Fairway adapter, that's not necessarily incorrect or inaccurate or a mistake.

 

If there was lack of clarity of specifically which model Titleist fairway the adapter supported, then the buyer is just as responsible in any possible misunderstanding. If it only said it was fairway length - that's also is fairly meaningless in implying any particular adapter - since many people play drivers at "fairway length".

 

What was the actual wording of the listing or their description? (or provide the link to the listing)

Everyone is correct... fairway adapter on left and driver adapter on right. Both have the rings on the end of the tip which I believe was introduced with the 913 series. The driver adapters will work with any series 910 and newer but the fairway adapter pictured will only work with the 913 series and newer. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My main point here is a mistake was made. I clearly ordered a fairway wood shaft, the shaft I got is 75 gram at 3 wood length and it has a driver adaptor on it..At least respond and attempt to make it right. I dont think that is asking too much

Stuart, with the metal ring on the tip, I was not aware that it would fit the 910 fairway... I know the original 910 driver and fairway were the same tip but it was a different design with a fatter head on the tip (no snikering LOLOLOLOL). The metal ring was introduced on the 913 driver for driver use only.

 

OP you are technically correct through, you got a driver tip on a fairway shaft. Lesson learned on everyone's behalf is the moral of this post. Can't expect that every member on Golf WRX is in the "know" and we need to be diligent with what we spend out money on. Sucks you are having to deal with this.

Well, I can't say I ever tried it myself to confirm (not a challange but curious - have you?) - but I haven't run across anything to support that it would be incompatible (not that it comes up very often though considering how long ago the 910 release was).
