Wearing golf clothing off the course.

Recommended Posts

Golf clothes on the course only for me. Once in a while I’ll wear my golf shorts and a tee shirt if it’s blazing and humid out, but never wear golf polos out.

And I think I’m the only one on here who wears jeans like twice a year... in the winter.

No you're not. I don't own a pair of jeans, nor would I ever wear a pair as an adult.

Buy a nice looking-good fitting pair of jeans.... donʻt wear em on the golf course. No more 4 putts.

When I started golfing (1987), I'd wear my "business casual" clothes on the course...lacoste polo shirts, gap khakis etc...

I now have a dozen polyester/synthetic golf shirts, a bunch of adidas ultimate shorts and pants, some golf pullovers/quarter zips. All these materials are not natural.

I've never worn any of these off the course. I have a few pairs of AG Green Label shorts which are great, and look like normal shorts...those I wear off course. Unfortunately, AG discontinued their golf line.

Jeans are an established modern wardrobe staple, you weirdo.

I don't even remember the last time I had a pair of jeans hanging in the closet.

Who hangs jeans!? Real jeans anyway, Levi, Wrangler, etc. I guess some people might have some type of designer jeans, you know the ones, all kind of cute embroidered stuff on the back pockets. Maybe they hang those.

Real jeans are folded in the store when you buy them, and stay folded in a drawer at home.

Some pretentious folks on this board, lol. I've never seen someone in jeans and felt disgusted, maybe I'm just not rich enough yet? No way I'm wearing dress pants unless I have to wear a suit for work.

I wear a lot of golf stuff off the course, was unaware this was looked down upon... Most golf clothes nowadays run upwards of $70+ for a polo and $80+ for pants. Don't understand how that isn't high enough price to wear off the course casually for those who would like to, but then again I've never been in a Louis Vuitton store.

I'm not sure who you are referring too. For me, I find jeans to be heavy, hot, too confining and uncomfortable but hey, I mostly live in shorts. Oh, and you are paying way too much for your clothes.

some of these topics I read and ask myself why, they are entertaining thats why. I guess I will chime in. 51 y/o here. I do not wear golf wear when not playing unless Im going somewhere right after play or practice. Never really thought about much about it, but if not going to to dinner or event I am in t shirt and shorts with pumas or converse. if going out its nice dress shirt and jeans. Yes I am over 50 and wear jeans. don't own khaki or cotton pants, hate them. If I really have to dress up its slacks. I don't care what others wear sometimes I get a good a laugh over it though. Im retired though, so its mainly workout gear and then summer casual. Plus I wear white belts, white shorts, and actually just bought a multi colored grey, white , black belt. Long golf pants are grey, black and navy. No white there for whatever reason. Ive never worn jeans on golf course, I wish I could say I don't judge who do but I would be lying. Bugs me, like guys wearing fire dept shirts off duty.

If I lived in Hawaii I wouldn't own jeans. Flip flops, board shorts and tees. Im jealous.

golf shirt with my hospital's logo (own ten now, all solid colors), golf pants, underarmour boxer briefs, and footjoy golf socks is what i wear 90% of the time.... if it's colder i will wear a nice golf vest/sweater on top. golf hat on unless at work.

Ten hospitals, or ten shirts?

ten shirts, lol. if i owned ten hospitals i would be a way more intense club hoe.

haha real jeans.

Buy a pair of expensive designer jeans and youll never look back. And no, none of my jeans have crap on the back of them. But all of the jeans I wear are more comfortable than a 20 year old pair of sweat pants. Its pretty remarkable how ridiculously soft and light high end denim can be. And yeah, light enough to even wear jeans to work in the summer in Phoenix.

Yep, real to me. I wouldn’t even know where to look for jeans that aren’t one of those old school types. I’d probably get sticker shock too!

Nordstrom and you absolutely would have sticker shock. I still get sticker shock haha. Actually my jeans are significantly more expensive than my dress slacks for work... which aren't exactly cheap either.

I have to be honest. I've bought work jeans at Sam's Club in the past. They worked fine.......they were $5 a pair! (It's been a while)
