i switched to 3 wood, 5 wood, 21 degree hybrid. Love the 5 wood rather than 19 degree hybrid.

I realized that I hit my 4 iron almost as far as my 16 degree wood, so I dumped the wood for a FIFTH wedge!!!!

Now I’m: driver, stretch 3 (for narrow fairways), 4 iron-pw and a 48, 52, 56, and 60 wedge.

Seems like I’m never more than a 4 iron from the green unless it’s a par 5, so why not add more options around the pin?

Tournaments add the 3 hybrid, 4 iron n LW. And i still won't hit 2-3 of these clubs during a rd.

When I carry 4 wedges I have a 4W, 5W and 4H between my 5I and driver. When I carry 5 wedges (adding a 64° ULW) I drop the 4W.

I carry four wedges. Between my driver and 5i right now I have 3 wood, 3 iron, and 4 iron. Gonna go back to 3 wood, 2 iron, and 4 iron before too long though

What is your distance gap between 5i and 7w?

 

About 13 yards. My 5 iron is 170 and my 7 wood is about 183. I don't have enough swing speed to hit a 4 iron effectively so I replaced it with the 7 wood. No way I'll go back to a 4 iron. The 7 wood is easy to launch, more accurate then the 4 iron and lands and stays where I hit it. The 4 iron launches too low and I couldn't hold it on our smallish greens as well as the 7 wood. With a nice high shot the 7 wood won't roll out more then 5-10 feet.

When I had 4 wedges (46, 52, 56, 60) my bag was D, 4w (17*) 3i, 4i, 5i.

 

Moved to 3 wedges (46, 52, 58) and now D, 3w (15*), 2i (18*), 3i, 4i, 5i.

For me it is driver, 4+ wood (16 deg), 4H at 22 deg, then 4 iron on down to PW, then 52/56/60 wedges.

 

Right now I am playing irons with traditional lofts so PW is 46 degrees. If I play a newer set of irons that has the stronger lofts, the PW is like 44, GW is like 49, then I add the 54/58 wedge set.

 

Either way the top of the bag doesn't change, it is always as listed above (driver 4+ wd, 4H).
