You think you've seen everything, then you see Subway Creatures and your life forever changes.

Growing up and going to NYC tons of times makes you very insensitive to the crazy stuff somebody from the mid-west would be floored by.

I don’t have twitter or instagram, but looked a couple of other places. Just wow. I suppose you become almost immune to after seeing crazy stuff all the time.

276 minutes. That’s about what it would take me to drive to Colorado Springs for the Senior Open Championship. 270 miles.

Yup. Extremely common to see passed out homeless people just laying on the ground just off the side walk. People pass by, walk over them, like they are just part of the ground itself. Crazed crack heads come up to you asking for money or whatever they can think of.... look right through them like they weren't even there. It's savage really.

Weighing my options coming from CT. Where would be the best place to park and take the LIRR in? Also contemplating on taking the ferry to either Port Jeff or Orient Point, does anyone know if there will be uber available at either ferry?

I'm taking the Ferry from New London to Orient - also staying in Orient Friday night. Our tickets are for Saturday's round - anyone know what the driving scenario will be from Orient to the event?

Based on everything I'm reading here... you don't want to be driving around the area on that day.

Yeah I agree - hoping maybe Saturday will be slightly easier than Friday.

Anyone know if it would be crazy and/or smart to take the two Shelter Island Ferries (North Ferry then South Ferry from Orient) and end up East of the course? Not sure if there's parking avail but maybe that's an option.

To piggy back on this topic other than travel...Does anyone have any recommendations for a bar/restaurant for Saturday night? Also we’ll be staying in mastic beach on Friday and taking the train Saturday morning so any recommendations for a bar/restaurant near there is also appreciated.

Nothing you would want to venture into in mastic or mastic beach. The area is a bit sketchy. There is Buckleys in Center Moriches, but if I were you I’d go to patchogue. It’s about 15 mind from there and it’s Main Street is full of resteraunts and lively bars.

I knew there would be traffic but surprised at how bad it is just for the practice rounds. The US Junior Amateur missed his morning practice round after it took an hour and forty minutes to go from Riverhead to Shinne yesterday morning at 6:30 am. Normally a 16 min drive.

As I mentioned before the LIE isn’t setup for huge numbers of cars getting off at one or two exits, and the local streets are even smaller. Anyone driving there should expect a 10 mike backup at least.
