I would go tour AD DI. It has a more universal fit than the Hzrdus that seems to be a bit marmite. Anything with an AD DI also makes good $$s if you decide to trade it on

I wish there were more custom options on the TM website. I ended up going with the stock HZRDUS shaft to test and will have to change it out if needed. I currently play Fuji Pro73 in my M4 3HL and 5 woods.

I ordered one a couple of weeks ago so hopefully it will arrive. Have not been told I won't be receiving it so still hope I suppose. Taylormade Canada site still has them available to order as well with a delivery date of 11 July so perhaps some stock is available.

The $50 upcharge brings it close to the MSRP. If you do the $57 upcharge HZRDUS Black it makes it $219.99.

Yeah it was a bit confusing, but if you go with some steel options it’s a much cheaper setup.

P790 has been superior in every single way for me. I’m honestly surprised that any TM staffers are still using the older version. The P790 is just automatic.

So they are selling so many (I have one that's supposed to arrive early July) they decided to discontinue instead of firing back up the process? Did someone steal the tooling? Pretty baffling.

I suspect any TM product, especially a niche one like a driving iron, requires them to make an educated guess as to demand and then live with it. The lead time for their production chain of a one-off clubhead is probably 8 months or so. They pick a design, tool up and guess several months ahead what the total demand will be.

 

By the time they notice they sold out of them in eight months instead of the expect twelve, they are already well along in the process of tooling up for next year's version. There's no advantage to putting off the next model's introduction to go and back-fill a few hundred units of the one that is selling out.

 

They are in a novelty-driven marketing environment where the steady stream of Newer Better Models must never be interrupted.
