Got 2 more since my last post.

this is on the inside of my right bicep. I told her what I wanted, and showed her a pic I found as an example. She put the outline on using a stencil (it was a basic fleur de lis, without any of the contour or shading or cracks) and she free handed all of the details. I am quite happy with how it turned out.

This one is on my left ribcage. It goes from my chest to my back, so it's bigger than it looks in the picture. The verse has significant meaning to my wife and I.

This is my current favorite, my body is about 80% tattooed and honesty I wish I could easily remove most of them. Tattoos ruined a career for me and have further made aspects of life quite difficult.

That's a bold statement my friend...

Your words are why I stop everything 5 inches above the wrist, no hands , face, or neck.

A pair of slacks and a dress shirt conceal everything...

It's a tough lesson to learn....

Sorry for your struggle man.

Slacks and dress shirt sound more painful than any tattoo. :P

Just had my tattoo worked on yesterday with more detail added to it. I just thought it needed something and I think it now looks finished! When people first saw it before they thought it was a maple leaf of some kind. I will add a pic after it heals up.

Here’s a memorial piece for my dad. He coached baseball for 39 years, so combining that and his strong belief was perfect. And his signature of course. Oh, and it is only a few hours old here...

That is extremely cool!

I'm working on my next one now. My artist is out on maternity leave currently, so it gives me a bit to finalize the details before I do it.

My dad was in the navy, and in 1974 when they crossed the equator, he went through the Shellback ritual and got a certificate. I remember it from when I was a kid, and when he passed away a couple of years ago, I found it buried under a bunch of junk in his storage room. I ended up hanging it on the wall in my apartment. I'm going to get the top center part of the artwork (King Neptune) less the banner and the fish/dolphins off to the side. It is a cover up job on my left bicep covering my first two tattoos that were cheap wall art when I was 18. It is going to wrap around and basically end up being a 1/2 sleeve. On the inside part of my bicep, I'm going to have her sketch out what looks like an old worn piece of paper (like on the certificate I have) and in the same text from the certificate, it will have his name, rank, Ancient Order of the Shellbacks, and the date he got it.

Attached is a picture of his plaque, and a close-up of the part I'm getting tattooed. It will be the water, the sun, and king neptune wrapped around going from just above my shoulder with the water at the top of my elbow. I figure the tip of the trident will be somewhere near where my shoulder meets my chest.

So the first session is done. I may have her go back over the horses to cover some of the green and go over Neptune to lighten him up a bit. I think her printer was honestly running low on ink, because the print-out she had for reference had these colors. Not a big deal if she cant, it doesnt need to be 100% accurate. I gave her some atristic design liberties in the design when we were talking about it. For certain lighten up Neptune, not 100% sure about the horses, I'm going to let it heal and think about it. I've got some time before my next session. I'm really happy with it so far. Still need to do the sun in the background on my shoulder, the water below Neptune, and the banner at the bottom. Also have the inside of my bicep to do. I am thinking this is going to be 3-4 sessions to complete. Last night was around 4.5 hours chair time, and that was enough. I sat through a 6 hour session with my calves (around 3 hours each) and I dont know if I'll ever do that long in one sitting again.

First pic is the old tats I'm covering up.
