Struggling with High Ball Flight, Occasional Hosel Rocket

This is my first post on GolfWRX, been a lurker for a while. I took some time off of golf for school and am just now getting back into it after a 6-8 month break. I have been having problems with the occasional shank and when I do end up making contact my ball flight is extremely high. It feels like I am not compressing the ball very well and I am adding loft to the club at impact, resulting in a moon ball. I have also lost about 1/2-3/4 club distance (maybe due to high flight). From watching these slow-mos of my swing, it seems like I am having a hard time getting through the golf ball and finishing strong on the left foot. I think some of this come from some hesitation that I am going to shank a shot, which has been occurring recently. Any tips/pointers or drills that you all would recommend for me? Anything else you see in my swing? Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this.

it's a testament to how good your swing looks when folks request DTL...that's a good thing!!! All I can say is it looks like a top-down swing. Watch your hips at the transition...they move slightly...then the upper body seems to do all the work because the arms are behind where your hips are pointing....or...your hips have a huge head start. I suggest trying to connect your hip turn with your arms in one movement to get the arms more in front of you....like rotate everything for a second.

 

Also, suggest watching the right knee to make sure it isn't straightening at the top because...at least for me...that promotes an over-the-top move...just enough to send the club/hosel on a shank path. Rotate the hips and try to connect the upper body like they're glued together. Or go skip rocks across a pond...it's basically the same movement.
