Although I have been disappointed with the headcovers lately the accessories have been solid. I got the pivot tool and the coin. Lately I have enjoyed collecting these over the covers. I use my blue custom shop Jackpot Johnny headcover as my everyday gamer so the others just sit in my display case or in a box

I had my hopes up for the US Open release, but I'm not a huge fan of what just dropped. It really seems like the designs are slacking this year.

With this release its not even slacking, its full on mailed it in, you could get 50 of these on the bay for $19.99 with free shipping. I wasn't a fan of the Christmas at The Masters cover but that is leaps and bounds better than this. The question now is, will this be around as long or longer than the Mardi Gras release?

Ok, is anyone actually buying these coins or pivot tools to use or simply collect? I can't see spending $80 on a ball marker that, eventually, I'm going to lose. $60 for a divot tool to do something a $3 tool will do just as well?

I do both. I seem only to lose coins in the winter when I'm wearing gloves most of time, so I stopped bringing them out in the cold. I have never lost a pivot or divot tool, I'm currently using a red roller scotty pivot tool, and I will use this scotty coin once received. That being said I like both collecting and using these accessories, the secondary market is fair on both new and used if I ever decide to get rid of anything. Much to my detriment (self inflicted) there is the "thrill of the chase" to acquire these when released, but I only purchase the items that I like.

Pretty generic. Definitely more of a Ryder cup feel. I thought they would have so many options with the Open venue this year to do something really cool.

Disappointed. Did pick up the white polo. Though I cringed pressing submit due to the shipping charges. Wished I wanted more items to justify paying 15 bucks for shipping.

I certainly expected more with this release. I like the headcover but agree it is a little too plain. But I hated the cow cover last year as I want these things to feel USA oriented. So to me this is an improvement over that. But I really feel bad for the mallet collectors. I don't recall any mallet headcovers yet this year, or if there has been it was only one. Last year had 3 different style headcovers for collectors. No towel, one fairly ugly hat, not many options. Last year's release was much better other than the fact that cow cover wasn't to my liking.

I feel like Scotty has really been slipping the last couple of years. The releases seem to continue to disappoint. I used to collect them but can't even remember the last cover I bought. I was thinking about doing the Club Cameron again this year because I liked the bag and the general theme of that kit but decided to wait until I saw a release or two. Man am I glad I stayed away. My Cameron collecting days are now over.

I stopped in Scotty's shop in Encinitas over the weekend while escaping the desert heat. Some really cool stuff in there but the shop really turned me off to Cameron. They had a rack of Circle T headcovers which were pretty awesome. I knew they were going to be crazy expensive but was considering grabbing one anyway. Then the guy told me not only did the cover cost $400 (which is insane but the sticker price didn't overly shock me) but it could only be purchased with a certified Circle T putter in hand. So not only do you have to pay a 10x premium on the product, you have to have a few thousand dollar stick, certified (more $$) in hand. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

I get Scotty and why he's doing this and why he can do this. But I dig collector markets which are more or less driven by the consumer love of a product, scarcity and demand. Not one which is being driven by the OEM himself. Even as of a few years ago, Scotty's market and the pricing of his products on the after market were largely still driven by those things. Now he's just putting out a diluted product at an astronomical price. There had to have been 25-30 Circle T headcovers, a bunch of custom shop covers and even some of the limited release covers in the shop. It's not like there were 1 or 2 of these things on the shelves.

I wanted to believe Scotty was still making a superior product and had a fairly scarce market. But I simply can't buy into that anymore.

What Silver Bullets said above couldn't have summed up my feelings better.

Got my first scotty, got that warm fuzzy feeling, wanted to go all in on Scotty...but...damn, very uninterested in the direction they are going. Warm fuzzy feeling fading and my eyes are turning to some smaller milled and made in the USA brands going forward.

the CT covers being sold only with a CT putter in hand has been that way for a while. easiest way to cut down on an immediate flip. they're not hard to get on the secondary market for a good price (depending on the cover). there's other brands doing the same with putting out limited items. not everyone will like what's put out. I understand the frustration but i try not to have my hopes too high for releases and buy what i like.

big miss. there is no design, just red white and blue stitched together. last year had some of the best covers i've collected (masters and pga were good, the british open was great). this year, boring designs made from hooker dress material.

Between taking 12+ weeks to mail out the original SC offerings, even for those that bought in in the first 48 hours of the year, to the lack of design and quality this year it's almost as if Scotty isn't even trying anymore. No way the same person is leading the design team this year as they had had in previous years. Very very very disappointing.

I wish SC would release something like this in the Studio Store and not just the Gallery. (Not mine saw it on eBay)

that would break TCC and this thread.

Hey all, my first ever purchase from Scotty Cameron's website was on Monday (Club Cameron 2018 Kit) and then second was on Tuesday (White Stars and Stripes Polo). It still hasn't shipped and my question to everyone is, is this a normal processing time for their products? I was really hoping to give the polo as a gift on Father's Day and my purchase from a competitor that same day was at my door this morning.

the club cameron kit should ship within 3 business days - per the website. https://www.scottycameron.com/store/2018-Club-Cameron-Kit.aspx

orders through the studio store (special releases) ship between 48-72hrs from release. so it SHOULD have shipped by now. check your order and see if it's shipped. you can also check via FedEx reference tracking and enter your order number, destination zip code and see if the label has been made. https://www.scottycameron.com/shipping/ (see under studio store shipping and handling)

their shipping absolutely sucks. no other way to put it. they have a 3rd party handling company for logistics and they really do take about 3 days to ship. it doesn't matter if you requested overnight or ground delivery. it's all random. i stopped overnight and 2day shipping from them a while back because they take forever to ship. I've gotten ground orders faster than overnight orders.

Great post. After the club cameron kit debacle early on and the random shipments, I started to question what was so good about his stuff other than it seems to be hard to get a hold of.. Nothing really... I have only one Scotty putter left and only because it's the first piece of golf equipment my wife ever bought for me..LOL Other than that I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like he gives a damn, which is good as its easier to move on from the brand all together. Some other companies putting out some really good stuff lately for a lot less than what he wants.

There will be plenty more releases. I’ll be interested to see if he ramps up the creativity. I like anticipating the releases. I also don’t mind the disappointment because it saves me the money. I’m happy with the Sunday bag in this year’s kit and hope to snag a stand bag this year.

Other than that, depending on the kit for 2019 I will probably drop my membership again. I only renew when I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth with the swag. Last year’s duffel and this year’s made it worthwhile.
