How many iron sets do you own?

I have one iron set, there I said it, I imagine I'm probably kicked off the site now.

 

I do have 3 putters not including the one in my bag, 3 extra wedges, and two extra drivers but they are a (original GBB and a 905R). I guess that doesn't help huh?

It all helps mate :) I've also got (in addition to my other sets sitting around) 2 Mack Daddy 2 wedges, 3 Cleveland wedges, a Nike Tour Covert driver and 3 wood a covert 2.0 hybrid and a VRII Pro #1 15 degree hybrid, a Titleist 716 TM-B 3 iron, an Odyssey white hot #7 (i think) putter and a Hiro Homer FEL 1005 putter with original shaft and grip....I think that's about it..

I have 3 full iron sets at the moment...

 

Gamers - King Forged Tec 5-Gw (currently playing King Versatile 50* instead of the set Gw, and about to try a BioCell 5i as well)

Backups - Adams A4 Forged 5-Gw (similar offset/topline/blade-length/shafts to gamers)

Other - Slazenger BeCu 3-9i (Goodwill pickup for ~$13)

 

I keep a backup bag consisting mostly of good deals I come across ($82 for the A4 Forged above, for example) or good clubs with little/no trade or resale value (like the excellent MacGregor VIP Black Milled wedges and Maltby PureTrack Tour Milled putter)... they're used most frequently by my brother or friends who may be in town without clubs, but I've used them as true backups once when my gamers were temporarily lost/delayed by an airline on the way home from a work-related scramble.

 

I stumbled across the Slazenger BeCu set at Goodwill and couldn't pass them up. I cleaned them up (I'm sure to the chagrin of patina purists) but haven't yet re-shafted them (mismatched shafts and completely shot grips) so they haven't been hit other than off the matt in the garage.

 

I also have a Titleist DCI Oversize 5/7/9i (also from Goodwill) in a pitch-and-putt bag for minimalist walking, but I usually just grab the 6/8/Pw from my gamer set when I actually do play minimalist.

Three. One is my full set of Mizuno MP-H4s. Another is the set of Titleist 716 CBs that I bought to make a combo set with the MP-H4s as my swing got back into better shape, which is a setup I really liked. The third is my current gamer set of used MP-25s with Steelfibers, which I got solely because I decided to transition to graphite shafts for health reasons but didn't want to drop a ton of cash on the first set of the experiment or try to reshaft my existing sets. However, I'm happy with the Steelfibers now so I don't see any need to keep the other two sets and will try to sell them soon.

And when I wasn't playing something weird when I was young, it was mostly MacGregor and/or Golfcraft before Ping came along. I guess it's because most of the MacGregor irons worth owning cost an arm and a leg that I don't have any. That's the nice thing about Staffs....they sold millions of them and even the great ones are relatively cheap, and still great.
