G700 feel

why is no one talking about the G400's as an "in-between" option here vs just i200 and G700??

To me they LOOK GREAT, yet are super forgiving.

Have them with PX LZ and they feel great.

+1

Because a lot of us that have hit both feel the G700 have a lot more to offer. For my game there was a large performance gap between the G700's and the G400's. If it was close or even just a marginal difference I would say the G400s were a cheaper alternative. But It was not even close for me.

That is why I. Bought the 4,5 and 6 iron in the 700s and I like them so much I will finish out the set.

You're probably a young and fit scratch golfer. I'm an aged hacker, 66 yrs and a 13 hi with a 90-92 swing speed. Hard to compare your experience and mine. I've played with Callaway Apex and and XXIO forged clubs, not the i200s. I'm not going to tell you that the G700s are going to feel as good, generally. They don't. But when I hit them well, they still feel pretty damn good. Had a lesson this evening and I nutted a couple 6 irons, and they felt great. Difference is, I hit a couple off the toe--they didn't feel good, but they still ended up pretty well. For me, these things are longer and very accurate. Since I've had knee problems and lost swing speed in the last year, I wanted some extra pop in irons without giving up accuracy. The G700s have done it and while the feeling isn't spectacular, I can tell bad shots from good, and the best ones feel really solid.

As for the sound, well, the sounds of my expressions of pleasure form many of my iron shots have been louder than my whining about the impact sound.

In the end, no reason not to try them but you may not like the feel at all and you may not need or like the distance. For an old geezer like me, the trade-offs are just fine.

DITTO!

I'm a Ping lover, but i did not like the feel of the G700 irons. I'm not sure it would prevent me from getting them .....But it was really not super pleasant. It felt like hitting a set of drivers. I actually think they were louder than my Epic

Great performance though, super easy to hit and classy looking.

Were you hitting towards the toe? Because I find that is where they are loudest and where the feel is harsh. Hitting off of the center or even towards the heel they feel and sound fine.
