Kind of a slap in the face that Minjee, Sung Hyun Park and In Gee aren't paired with higher ranking pros.

Dame Laura and Aza better wear some hard helmets in case Juli throws some more clubs this week.

Huge slap in the face, certainly for Minjee who has been doing very well this year. I know SHP and In Gee are a little out of form (for them), but a 2:40pm for In Gee?!? Does this matter to the player at all? Maybe some like early/late tee times? I know the course changes throughout the day and get easier/more challenging. But dang, this really does seem harsh. Anyone know why this may be the case?

The last time an LPGA Tournament was here in Chicago it was ridiculously hot and humid in 2016. Hottest and humidest I’ve felt here. It’s normally mid-80s in the summer. Now we have another heat wave coming through on Friday and Saturday. Heat index could be 100-110. Course will be pretty wet due to all the rain we’ve had. More coming today I hear. Hope the bunkers are OK. Looking forward to a great tournament.

I'm rooting for Lexi Thompson this week. She's ready to win again, and this would do it in style.

It's time. But she needs to take the putter cover off to do it.

1) I've got to believe all the pros hate the PM wave times...especially a late one.....bumpy greens and all the waiting until teeing off.

I think most pros wake up early.

2) Red, white & blue agenda...lol. :taunt:

Don't you remember a few years ago when NYC was playing really well and a Rolex Ranked top 10 or top 5 player and would get lousy start times and paired with lower ranked players....it also happened to SYR a while back too.

How do you explain RR #192 Paula Creamer getting paired with #13 & #18....Anna and Brooke this week.

I think the Americans want to adopt Brooke as one of their own...she gets a huge favorable and a disproportionate of air time.

It might be the closest we get to a (North) American winner for a while! :cheesy:

Sunday will be the cut off for player selection to the International Crown teams.

Hye Jin Choi is just edging out IK Kim by only 0.02 points for the 4th place team member on the Korean team.

The Rolex Rankings are a 2 year rolling average....I assume HJC is playing this week in Korea?....I assume she would have to play really well and IK miss the cut for any chance for HJC to remain as the 4th player on the Korean team.

IK is very stoic....I think she could take it or leave it whether or not she's on the team...whereas....I think Hye Jin Choi would be over the moon to play the International Crown in Incheon later this year.

I'm probably jinxing her by saying this...wouldn't a KPMG win allow In Gee enough points to make the team?

I think In Gee really wants to play on the IC team and knowing a major and making the IC team are on the line this week....it might be too much pressure on her.

If indeed In Gee is holding the trophy come Sunday afternoon and makes the Korean team....the International Crown will be sold out in 30 minutes....the 8000+ Flying Dumbo fans will scoop up all the remaining tickets and petition to make more tickets be available for sale and to build more grandstands.

Dumbo Fighting! :taunt:

I have always complained that GC absolutely fawns over her too much. She can be 10 back and still get coverage. However, after having briefly met her and her sister I am completely ok with it, they are both very cool. Whatever, still waiting for the day when drones follow each group and you can hand pick who to watch.

In Gee needs a solo third to have any chances at all; a solo second and she's in unless IK finishes solo fifth or better at KPMG.

I assume Danielle Kang would have to win the KPMG to beat out Wiesy for the 4th spot for the American IC team.

You know BJ, IMG and Whan are 'fixing' and scheming some kind of advantage for Michelle to play well this week.

As much as the Koreans look 'good' on paper...an US team of Lexi, Kerr, Jess and Wie is a really formidable group in match play.

It will be interesting to see if more fans come out to watch the International Crown vs. the 2015 President's Cup played on the same golf course....women's golf is more popular in Korea.

So you're saying there's a chance we could watch Belen play golf...even though she's 12 strokes off the lead? :taunt:

lol, I'd still watch In Gee and Lydia... (And Lexi, and So Yeon, and Namdalla, and Minjee, and Michelle, and IK, and...ah forget it, I couldn't handle it.)

I was at the course early today, and the morning storms were really pretty stiff.

Heard one of the cars parked at the Main Lot at Lake County Fairgrounds was struck by lightning.

Thank you to -

and all the players we had the honor to observe and escort.

Ugh a lot on the line with IC stuff. Since IK's on the borderline, this is now making me feel tense about this one, like it's overhanging the tourny. I can't say I know Hye Chin, and I totally adore In Gee, but of course am fully behind Inky. I hope IK's at 100%.

Cheering for Su to make her team as well.

Much like the Olympics teams, x-players-per-nation stuff is just a plain tough fit for this sport and its geography. Wish Korea was less of a pressure cooker on these things, too. Like, it's all good.

Yeah, every once in a while the groupings and start times feel suspect. Aside from the made-for-TV groups, occasionally they look like they're made using the latest in dartboard and name out of a hat technology...

the property is almost wishbone shaped, main entrance is at the north tip and branches wide.

front nine goes to the east and back nine plays to the west.

no shortcut from the far front nine to the back nine.

five, six and seven are at the southeast perimeter

thirteen, fourteen, fifteen - border west.

Not many concessions marked on the map insert found in the course handout.

Wise to obtain hydration supplies at the main Fan Zone once you enter and pass the driving range.
