I would have to agree with JC on that one. I have had many Camerons and seen many more, and I have never seen a tour Cammy quite like that. Best to be sure and stay away than get a possible fake.

I have to agree with JC and Trav......no feedback for this guy to date (which doesn't make him bad or anything because everyone has to start somewhere) and if you look at his past purchases there are no Tour Putter transactions of any kind. There aren't any "tour" items to speak of. He hasn't purchased anything from any reputable sellers that deal in collectable or tour items. It's ashame to stereotype this guy but also a tough item (given the influx of fakes in the market) to start and eBay career out on.

 

One last thing.....I have sevral Cameron handstamped Beaches and no dancing logo looks like this one. It appears a little "off."

 

Something seems wrong about the whole thing.

100% legit made for Tiger Woods. Scotty showed me that one and about 4 others during the 2000 PGA Champ, which happened to be at my course. They were the protos for the studio design. There was never a chance Tiger was going to play it but thats how and who it was stamped for.

I may be crazy but these are the reasons I decided to go so high.

 

I had an opportunity to talk to Scotty directly about the putter this

week on the phone. He never suggests a price or value for a putter,

but  gave me a lot of information so I could make a decision. He did

feel it was a very valuable piece, with it being a one of a kind, and

I believe he said the only putter he has done handwork for Tiger on. I

could be mistaken on that. But he certainly has not made many putters

so unique for Tiger.

 

He basically called it an S. Cameron that he made for Tiger in 2000

that he put a lot of custom handwork into. He said he made a long

flowing rounded plumbers neck on the putter and did lots of other

little custom work on the putter, like the slot on the sole to heel

and toe balance the putter. If you look closely I believe the C was

actually stamped an O and painted in to be a "C". Not sure if that was

an error or was done for 00 for 2000? Guessing an error. He actually

made it with the thought that it might be a gamer for Tiger. Of course

that never happened and the rest is history since 2000 with his GSS.

 

The seller would not end his auction early and my gut was he was not

going to settle for a lower price. So I decided to bite the bullet and

pay his price. Like Scotty said if 97 Master's Winners sell in the

$3500-$4000 range ( with about 270 pieces, I forget his actual

score ), what is this one of a kind really worth when you get a COA

and a letter from me that states what a unique putter this is.

 

Everyone has puts a different value on very rare putters and I decided

that I really wanted this one for it's one of a kind uniqueness. With

a COA and a letter from Scotty, and listed by any seller with great

feedback I would think this putter would have a higher value. What

that value is, is what makes Cameron collecting fun, when something

comes along that you want.

 

I hope everyone has a great week and is getting ready for great Spring

and Summer golf. I know those of you from the colder parts of the

country are getting the rust out, and just starting to get your A

games back.
