I got fit for the EXO Seven S the other day at Cub Champion - I LOVE how it feels, very soft and the ball just rolls so perfectly. The putter looks weird, but I can't beat the performance. It seems like everything I looked at went in.

To me the EXO insert felt softer (less sound/feedback).

I agree. EXO feels a just a bit softer to me than the microhinge.

The EXO insert is ever so slightly firmer than the White Hot insert and the MicroHinge.

To start for those that don't know or understand. BOTH the EXO and the O-Works line have a Microhinge type insert in them. It's just the Polymer around the Microhinge is different between the two lines. But from reading the responses it sounds like they may be closer to each other in firmness then I expected since the answers about which is softer seems to very with the responses.

I had the #7 in the O-Works line and now have the Rossie in the EXO line. In my opinion, the EXO microhinge with the white insert is significantly more quiet / softer (which I prefer) than the O-Works.

I am going with the EXO softer crowd. Its not a huge difference between the two.

So we have folks saying EXO is firmer and we have folks saying EXO is softer.

I too feel like the EXO line is noticeably firmer. It was the very first thing I noticed when I rolled one and I have to admit that I like the feel a lot.

So far....

7 People say the EXO is softer.

5 people say the EXO is firmer.

So my theory is both. The smaller hinges are going to be softer but the base around them is firmer. On the exo the hinges are firmer but the base is softer. So the exo will be firmer on short putts when the hinges do more work but softer on long putts when the base insert become more compressed.

According to the EXO interview with Odyssey the EXO insert is firmer than O-Works. Not as an perception, but as an actual fact.

We don't need no stinkin' facts. ;)

Read this thread. Rolled microhinge and EXO back to back a few times tonight. I really do not see how anyone could think EXO is softer. Definitely firmer, easy to tell. And I have to say, it really feels nice. I like it a lot.

That said, the Jailbird Mini I tried with microhinge also felt nice. The two feel different and certainly more pop off the EXO face and more feedback. I did find myself longing for a Jailbird Mini slant neck with an EXO face. That would be my choice but I would not rule out a microhinge. It does work at rolling the ball well.
