Based on indoor testing using GCQuad the spin comes off reasonably low.
However on course playing and testing, most shots landed with decent steep angle of descent thus held the greens reasonably well.
Greens were ok but quite receptive.
Had a quick round at my one course today.
Given the “modern” strong lofted players iron. The rogue are a full 1 club longer from my previous gamer.
Also the setup at address might seems slightly “larger” over the ball, which might not be a bad thing.
Off centered hits were super forgiving and not as punishing as the old school players irons.
Might find they are a bit too much offset but still easy enough to manouver and shape shots on demand.
The initial impression was that the back of the club might be too busy for most people. Not as sleek compares to let’s say Epic Pro or 2017 XForged. But this irons are design for pure brutal performance. This isn’t a beautifully crafted modern Ferraris but this is more a skyline GTR with huge twin turbos that’s definitely very modest in the looks department by comparison. Then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Can someone take a photo(s) of the Rogue Pro either from address or of the face with a forged players iron for comparison? I'm trying to gauge how they compare to my Bridgestone J36 in terms of sweet spot size.
Never even heard of the Rogue pro's till a friend surprised me with his new set. We played 9 holes together last week. He had TM PSi last year. He is a heck of a player and numerous years younger, but i was usually able to keep up and exceed him distance wise the last few years. Not this year, he was a club longer than me with every shot.[i200's] Not a big deal, but i was impressed with his improved iron game. Bugger shot even par. lol He ordered a full set with i110 steelfibers, full retail with the added $60 plus per shaft, sounds like a lot to me but he will play them for numerous years.
So i snagged a mint used set 6-AW for a decent price and i have some i95 SFibers i could get dropped in if necessary.
Kinda excited to get them, hopefully they don't disappoint.
Had a set of Steelhead pro's for a cup of coffee, hope these are a huge improvement.
Anyone hit the rogue pro and the apex pro? Comparisons?
Are they forged?
There are 2 threads comparing CF16 and Rogue Pro. The Rogue Pro is cast. Anyone ever compared the feel difference between cast and forged head both with cast face?
I previously owned a set of Apex CF16 with the stock XP shaft and currently am playing a set of Rogue Pro's with KBS Tour shafts. I like the satin chrome of the Apex better although the Rogue Pro finish seems more durable. I prefer the shape of the Rogue Pro and feel it's performance is more consistent for me. The short irons in the Rogue Pro seem incredibly accurate for me. Could be the shaft difference.......hard to tell.
Both feel well when struck solidly........no advantage to either.
Took the Rpro's out for a practise round at my men's league course, this place is very tight and tree lined. I hit the irons off every tee and played multiple balls, i was very impressed with my new to me irons. Very tight means hitting a 6 iron in the fairway is not a given. It's been awhile since i had confidence with not going left, these were a breath of fresh air.
I have been told these are low spinning irons, usually i hate the wind like most guys, but the wind had less affect on the pro's than a lot of irons iv'e tried. The just pierced thru the wind like it was a calm day. Stopping power into greens was decent, but not the best iv'e tried. Can't have everything i guess.
Played 18 yesterday, crap weather and a new to me course, didn't help my game but the new sticks were not to blame. Made enough nice shots to keep me happy.
Played 18 again today at the other course i like to play at, tougher course but very fair. Windy as H-ll thou, and like i said i usually play bad with lots of wind. Front nine was not the best [no warm up, wind] Back nine was better, tied my lowest nine score at that place, only took 4 years to duplicate. lol Once again the low spin irons thru the wind was very key to my success.
Very happy so far with my purchase.
Heading to our annual guy's weekend of 36 a day for 3 days, this coming weekend. Hopefully the Rogue Pro's serve me well.
I purchased Rogue Pro irons (4-P) with KBS tour 130 shafts to replace old Ping G10s about a month ago.
As a higher handicapper with a high swing speed I was worried that I may not be consistent enough to game these irons but at the fitting they offered the tightest dispersion, both distance and off the centre line.
Having played them for a month now I think the 8 iron is my favourite club I have ever owned. I know that is a big statement but I have never had so much confidence that I can put it on the green when standing over the ball 165 - 170 yards out.
Now I just need to replace an old G20 3 wood and fill the gap between my 4 iron and a new fairway wood!

Might go 50-56(bent to 55)-60 or just 50-56-60 cause I'm probably kidding myself that 1* between 55 and 56 really matters to my game.
Thats funny. I have been on this thread a few times and never read that. I ordered my new wedges, 56* bent to 55* and 60* to compliment the Rogue Pros (Gap wedge is 50*) which I pulled the trigger on Friday my local course. You are right I will never know the difference in the 1* but I just like things being set-up proper. I still have a feeling the 50* Rogue Pro is going to have a large gap to the 55* RTX-3. Maybe I should have waited but we'll see.
I ordered 4-GW with KBS C-taper 130X and Golf Pride MCC Plus4. Callaway had all the components so they said they would ship tomorrow (6/5/18) and be here next week.
Well my M4 driver was scheduled for delivery today. Got a notification and took off from work an hour early to go hit it. Got home and my new wedges were there too and I had no idea they were even shipped. Got to the club, put my bag down and went in to get ball tokens. Guy at counter asked if the GM called me. I said nope. He said we have your irons here. So, incredible day for me.
About the irons though, everything I wanted. The size is perfect. No longer than my players irons but more sole, more confident top line without being obnoxious, and great looking at address. They are very easy to hit. Not as feelless as the Rogue standard, but much more forgiving than my forged J36 irons. That should go without saying. They definitively have “pop.” The feel and sound is really good to me. The ball has serious speed off the face. I won’t play them until Friday, I’ll report back then.
So after a few rounds I've gotten used to the Rogue Pro's and really like the head/shaft combo. The only problem I'm having is some gap issues in my scoring irons. I would guess a lot has to do with me (I've always had trouble lofting high loft irons) and some has to do with testing them with SkyTrack with horrible range balls.
On the course I figured out the yardages pretty good but something seemed off. On the LM I avg. GW 115 yd. carry, PW 120 yd. carry, 9i 129 yd. carry, then 8i 150 yd. carry. On the course the 8i was definitely a 160yd. club total so the 150 carry seems right. I just don't know about the lower irons. I'm playing this afternoon so I'll try to take a few extra shots and get the gapping calculated.
Sounds like you may be delofting those short irons more then the longer ones. Could be a swing weight or even shaft weight issue. Couldn't hurt to get the swing weights checked or even play around with some lead tape.
I hit the Rogue Pro yesterday for quite a while and I came away very impressed. After playing the Apex CF16 for the last two years and then moving to the TM P770 for less offset and a more traditional look at address, I put the Rogue pro through it's paces. I could hit it low or high and turn it right or left. Although the offset is more than the P770, it is less than the Apex and it doesn't "want" to go left" like the Apex did. I didn't care for XP105 shaft.
I thought the sound and feel was excellent. The sound was more impressive as it sounded more like an old school smack moreso than a click. On the feel side, the mishits don't have much feedback from a harsh standpoint. You can definitely tell when you mishit, but it doesn't punish the hands at all.
So I ordered them with KBS Tour V shaft in stiff. I had had enough trade in credit that the set only cost me $3.16 and that's with Winn Dri-Tac midsize grips. I ordered them 2* up and +1" with the grips loose in the box and I will cut them down myself to the 3/8" increments I want. I'm excited.

After several demo sessions, I ordered the Rogue Pros (6-A Recoil 760 F3). I took advantage of the 150% trade offered by Global Golf. Clubs unexpectedly arrived today (ordered last week). Loved the feel in my first range session and played a few holes after hours. Ordered a Rogue X 5 today which will replace a hybrid. Might be to much of a gap but want to give it a try. My Z565s will likely be on the bench.
Anyone have the black ones? I’m about to place my order. I was curious how the finish will hold up?
I hear it’s PVD and I’m under the understanding that doesn’t hold up great? Wondering if I can sit them all in white vinegar after a while and strip them.
I’m gonna order the black rogue pro with the black $ taper 130. They’ll look unreal!

I have them and yes they look amazing. Best looking iron I have seen in a while being all black and stealthy. But yes they do wear easily. I have X Forged and the feel was so different I went back to my X Forged after one round, lol. Not saying anything bad about the Rogue Pro though as we all know they are not forged. Great irons.

Really? How many rounds did you play with them before you saw significant wear? I guess it’s not gonna keep me from buying them honestly. Do you have a picture?
For what it is, I think it is a very nice looking head. They pack a ton of technology into a head that looks pretty traditional at address.
This spring I ordered a set with KBS Tour V stiff, after trying graphite shafts in some other heads due to some elbow issues. Unfortunately, I don't think I can go back to steel. Also, with the Tour V shafts, these are very low spinning heads. I ended up taking them back to Edwin Watts where I got them for store credit and went back to graphite after I found a great deal on some 714 CBs with recoil prototypes. With the right shaft, I probably would have kept them.

They really do look awesome by the ball. Not too long heel to toe which is always a bigger deterrent for me than a fat top line.
I’m getting the black rogue pros with the black $ taper 130x. I went to club champion and these were right there with the I-200. Figured I’d just buy both cause I love Ping lol! Basically the same numbers but I actually got about 500RPM more spin with the rogue pros.

Really, more spin with the Rogue Pros vs i200s? I tried those also, they were my first experiment with regular Recoils (non-protos). I got a set with Recoil 110 F5, I hit them super high and spun them off the planet.....even had the powerspec lofts, just got rid of them today....... The Rogue Pros with the Tour Vs were like the exact opposite of the i200s I played. Just goes to show how important the shaft is......

I hear it’s PVD and I’m under the understanding that doesn’t hold up great? Wondering if I can sit them all in white vinegar after a while and strip them.
I’m gonna order the black rogue pro with the black $ taper 130. They’ll look unreal!

Not sure if they have your specs or not but check CPO, I think they’re 40 percent off there right now. Could save you a ton of money if you find your combo
