Ping G30 set to 12.5. Regular flex. It's too bad more loft results in draw bias. I really don't need a closed club head just the loft.

We always recommend XXIO (Zek-si-oh) drivers for customers that have slower swing speeds. XXIO develops their own shafts for their drivers, so that the golfer is getting the most of their swing speed.

I'm curious to know what benefits in terms of yardage and dispersion I could get with my 95mph swing speed with the XXIO driver.

Why do you guys play at 44"? How does that help you hit it farther?

... For every 1/4" you miss the center you lose 5-7 yds. Many shots are out on the toe 1" or more with 460cc drivers and that is a loss of 25-35 yds. The small amount of club speed potentially lost with a shorter shaft pales in comparison to the yards lost by missing the center. Most golfers hit shorter shafts more accurately and even thought the guys on tour average just under 45" OEMs continue to sell drivers with 45-46" shafts so they can have robots hit them and claim they are the longest drivers.

My SS is 86-90 but I play my Epic with a stiff shaft at 9 degrees. It's the only way I keep the spin under 4000.

Like GDB99 asked, what is a slow swing speed? In the 90s? If that is slow, then yes I'm a slow swinger.

I've read fairly extensively about XXIO and they seem to be oriented towards golfers that swing sub 90 and even sub 80.

Because I would like to eek out a few more yards, than my 240-245 yard, "bombs" I have tried to find drivers that might help. A recurring theme is that the SLDR won the 2014 Golf Spy best driver for medium swing speeds (90-100) and I have observed and read that many slower swingers still use the SLDR.

This year's Golf Spy winner of best driver for the 90-100 mph driver is the Callaway Rogue Sub Zero. Odd, because I would have thought slower swingers would have problems creating lift and the sub zero is more of a spin killer. I guess I just don't understand? Compounding the issue, is that with this swing speed, I'm always on the cusp of a regular or stiff shaft. What flex I ultimately end up with always winds up coming down to the particular shaft model even though with stiff shafts I feel like I can go after it harder without the risk of a nasty hook.

Currently I'm using the PING G400 at '44 which helps me square it up and I like the driver very much, but like many of us I cannot help but think that I may be leaving a couple of yards out there which may improve my scoring by a few shots per round.

I'd love to hear any insights and feedback on this topic! Thank you all.

What's the definition of slow swing speed?

On this forum? Anything under 130 mph.

This deserves more than 1 like.

I have to ask, what's your average distance? I have roughly the same SS and I've balked at even attempting to hit a stiff - low degree head. Perhaps I'm missing the boat on this..........

At that setting I'm between 190 - 200 carry. Best I could get out of my Ping G with it set at 12 degrees and regular flex shaft was about 180-190. It wasn't until I spent some time on a good launch monitor that we came up with that setup. Plus, I'm getting some decent roll out now where I wasn't before.

I swing high 80’s low 90’s. According to Game Golf my Avg is 223 with a Typical drive of 233. I switch off between the GBB 13.5 set to 12.5 with 2 10g weights in full fade setting or the Epic 13.5* set to Neutral with weight straight back.

Both I play at 44.25” with a HZRDUS T800 5.5. Both go the same distance on good strikes. I have a +4* AoA, very low spin, but my strong grip delofts the face at impact causing a snap hook when it gets real bad. So more loft and open face at address help me. Just a hard combo to find.

The higher I launch it the longer my drives go. Thinking of trying a TM R15 14* or a SLDR S 16*.

My SS is 88 to 90 mph

XXIO 8 and 9 series driver are good choice for slow swing speed players. I already try them at driving range and golf course. However because they produce the same distance like my TM jetspeed , so I decided not to switch.

( I use Tour AD TP4 stiff flex shaft in my Jetspeed )

XXIO driver' shafts are comparable to Tour AD shafts. Using plenty of Toray carbon sheets.
