Maybe I’m the minority here but they are just meh

They are nice, but I think the 45 line had so many things going right for it that it's going to be hard to top so our expectations of something better are present. The more I look at these the less I like them. The sharp toe design of the 45s was so nice, I wish they'd go back to that and I would agree the back is starting to look a little busy. But, if they feel and perform as generations prior, it's only a good thing. Shaft options will play a factor, too, I am sure. Any word on that, or did I miss it in this thread?

I feel like with mizuno and srixon there is not a ton of shaft talk because they offer pretty much everything for free. Im am excited to test the ping offering as well but I am eagerly waiting for their shaft list which is more limited.

So will deals be available on the 565 and 765 ?

I have heard --not directly from Srixon mind you --that they are rapidly running out of 565 heads. Si considering there are so few remaining, I wouldn't look for any discounts.

Pretty sure those are the 965s.

I don't think they are z965. Hideki plays a custom set made for him without the v sole

I think he had the same thing with the 945’s, basically the same club as the one sold to market, just his were special made without the v-sole.

Anyone got info if these will include a gap wedge?

I dont, but it would be nice if a) there is a GW, that b) it comes in left hand.

The muscle line on his looks to be more rounded than 945, at least on the one club that I can see from the above photo. I'll have to go dig up some better pictures.

If Srixon's front man on tour doesn't want v-sole.. what does that say about its real effectiveness?

Edit: a better photo, and that is definitely nothing like what we have. He did have Z945 in 2014 and 965 in 2016. In this picture it looks like the club did have v-sole as you see with the shadow at toe and heel, but was removed.

Fair enough. If I was on staff with Srixon/Cleveland I'd be getting them to remove that v-sole quicker than you can say "Do you have any wedges other than RTX-3?"

Care to explain why? Is it something from your experience?

I don't feel I need whatever help with "turf interaction" that its supposed to give. Also, I know what my divots are supposed to look like and don't want anything that changes that.

I've seen other threads where people have raised issues in the past but also understand that it has helped far more people than it has hindered.

Not sure if you’re saying the same thing, but it looks like he was playing the 945’s without the v-sole before the 7 series came out.

That's what he used back in 2014 and that's the same as retail 945. The one I posted above was from this week. The shape of the muscle is definitely not like 945 or 965, or 985 for that matter.

Yeah, I’m not sure what that newer one is, but you are right, the muscle doesn’t match up to either series. The satin line that cuts across the back on the 7 series is there, though. Maybe a JDM only or one-off just for him that may have been designed around the same time as the 7 series?

Nice find with the above video.

I just purchased a combo set 565-765 from Carolina Golfer 2. I’ve never had Srixon before but these matched my specs. Boy, first round out in a member match play event and I shot a 75. Woo hoo!

Anyway, I was fit at Sea Island into the AP3s. Our club let me demo them for a few weeks. They were long. Almost too long. Due to operator error, they could feel real clunky on slight mishits.

With only 1 practice session and one round in, I’m all in on Srixon. We have really soft conditions at my course and the V sole seems perfect for these conditions. The top of the bag, the 565s are just stupid easy to hit.

Hard to imagine more improvements, but I’m sure there will be some in the next iteration.

Funny those irons never had that score in them with me..LOL Really glad to hear you like them and they are performing well. I do have an order in on a set that are more to my specs (shaft) based on the fitting I had last month. so I'm really looking forward to getting those in soon.

I have a 565 in a 5 iron with a recoil graphite shaft I picked up on eBay that had my length and lie. I wanted to replace my JPX-850 forged 5 iron as I felt it just didn’t get as high as I wanted to be able to stop the ball from 190 out. The 565 not only get up there , it is probably the easiest 5 iron I have even hit.

I would love to get me a combo 765/565 if the price was right but for now the club I picked up really filled in a need. Very pleased!

The lack of blade has really put me off these. the 7 series does look good though.

I was waiting to see what Srixon and Mizuno come out with, now just Mizuno to go.
