Has anyone else noticed a recent change with the Greenbrier and the Irish Open on Golf Channel?

They are speeding up the broadcasts to 1.25 instead of normal speed. If you look closely you can tell. The pros take a shot much faster than they do in real life. They look like they are on speed.

This is hard to watch.

Are you sure you're not?

I don’t know about that but I get annoyed seeing good shots that happened a few moments previous being passed off as live. Mught be what you are referring too. I did notice Thursday with Phil’s group they had a few shots out of order. I noticed on the green. If I remember Phil putted, then another guy putted and you could see Phil had not yet hit his putt. That was weird. Then too one of his partners sort of looked like Bubba. I was a little confused there at first. Haha. Is this what you mean? I read that to mean you think they have spead up the feed like playing a 33 on 45?

No, it is actually faster. As if you hit the fast forward button. Watch how fast the ball rolls and how fast they walk from shot to shot.

They look like Mall speed walkers, the crowd too walks very fast.

I was just wondering that given that this is live broadcast how come the players are so quick to be on the greens after their tee shots on par threes. And now I'm getting paranoid looking at the pace on which they walk.

You never knew when they cut to guys on the green, they all had just run (except for Westwood) to the green after hitting their approach shots? They are catching rides after their tee shots - you are confusing what you are seeing for the entire tournament being made a lot faster and having to be slowed down for TV - guys on the Euro Tour haven't walked for years.

Speeding up live broadcast - lol.

And yes, when I hit fast forward that ball rolls really fast!

someone had to say it!

I've watched pretty much the whole Irish Open broadcast (haven't bothered with the Greenbrier) and haven't noticed anything. Would there be different broadcasts for different locations? The final groups in the 3rd round went round in well under 4 hours which I thought was good but didn't notice anything that looked faster than normal from a broadcast point of view.

You don’t notice that they don’t take their time at all. These are pros, they take their time. Watch closely, pros do not hurry up like this.

Watch how fast they do their waggles when they get up to the ball. See how fast it is?

I haven't noticed anything like what ur talking about. Are you sure it's not because ur used to seeing Spieth, Day etc etc take and hour to read a 6 inch putt? All the guys I've seen during the Irish Open broadcast I get are just putting out like they should instead if marking 4 inch tap in's and lining them up and crap like that. It's great! I don't see swings any faster, or walking faster or balls rolling faster than they should or anything like that when I've been watching.

I’m watching now and it seems normal at the moment. Perhaps it’s when it’s not live?

Maybe they compress some parts.

Oh well, just see if you guys ever notice it. It’s the most annoying thing ever for golf tv to be sped up.

Yeah if ur not watching it live, it will be edited. Happens all the time. Player tees off then 10seconds later he's hitting his second. Yep, that happens a lot. But not the fast walking or the ball rolling faster or quicker waggles etc etc.

What I saw was definitely faster than normal life. You know how you can speed up a pod cast?

They sped up the footage. Their really wasn’t any back and forth banter between the broadcasters like there is now. It was just one guy commenting . Almost like he dubbed over the sped up coverage .

All I’m saying is watch for this kind of thing. Yesterday at the greenbrier I commented. “Geez bubba and the players are moving so fast!” They don’t move that fast when 100’s of thousands are on the line.

I love the doubters. It’s ok, I realize it is hard to believe. I have watched golf on tv for 20 years, first time I’ve ever noticed it.
