Studio Style vs Studio Stainless

I know this can stir up some people, but i want to know your opinions on, which model is better Studio Style or Studio Stainless in the Newport/Newport 2 model? And explain your reasoning...

Stainless for sure

One of Scottys best I think, and one that I wish he would go back to

Solid face, great feel

Comes in a variety of headweights, 350, 340, 330 without interchangeable weights

 

Not a fan of the inserts, and the studio style falls into that bucket for me

I just didn't like the feel of this series

Im looking at a newport beach model, what head weight are they, or is that dependant on the length of the putter like the studio style?

they come in 330 and 340

if it's 340, it will be on the sole

There is nothing on the sole, so im assuming its a 330g then....

Stainless would be my pick, the GSS insert is ok, but not as pure. But you really can’t go wrong. Just maybe need to weigh them.

Two great models..

I too prefer the studio stainless, it's the purest OTR...no inserts, no interchangeable weights, no plating.

The studio style is great too, it has the insert, but it's gss, not stupid plastic.

Stainless here as well. There isn't anything special about the GSS insert that makes it sound, feel or putt better than the non-insert stainless.

One more for Studio Stainless.

Had both back in the day and not sure the Studio Style would have ever happened if my Stainless wasn't stolen out of my bag. Was to young to realize I should have just replaced with the same putter.

I have both and favor the studio stainless. Fingers crossed that he goes back to this style eventually....the demand is clearly there..

I'm a fan of the Studio Stainless, but the head weights can be light by today's standards. I have a Mid Sur that I cut down a little and made it a counter-balanced type club, it has a little heavier head.

I’ll go with Studio Stainless as well, I don’t believe I’ve hit the other one before though. So I’m a little Biased :)

General consensus seems to be the Stainless and I agree. I gotta ask though: compare the Stainless to the TeI3 and I’ll be curious to see the responses. The TeI3 is one of the few insert putters that I enjoy.

i just got me one of these, traded a few old clubs to my local pro shop for it. I had this putter when it first came out......i should of never gave it up
