Also found a bottle of Angel Envy Cask Strength Port Barrell for $299...that’s $100 cheaper than I have found in GA.

 

Thoughts on either bottle.

 

Found me a 1/2 gal of Weller 12 in TN so grabbed that.

 

That W12 is an awesome find! Angels are all too sweet for my tastes, more of a dessert drink.

Old Ripy is a WT product, no good. It's a cash grab release, in a 375ml no less. sucks.

 

AECS should be $199, and its not even worth that. It's pretty good, but nowhere near worth the $199 MSRP.

It just tastes like young unready bourbon to me. Some people like that taste. I don’t... But, I hate cilantro with a passion, some people like it. It’s really up to your taster.

Just finished a bottle of Stagg Jr and just picked up a bottle of ECBP. Really impressed by the EC, excellent sipper. Wish it was easier to locate Stagg Jr in Michigan.

 

Did anyone pick up the new KC Cask strength Rye? My local store had it for $80ish but I passed. Curious if anyone has tried it yet though.

The liquor store down the street from my office has the Weller Special Reserve (green label) for $30. Anyone recommend? They also have Weller 12 but it's $119 now...didn't that used to be in the $30 range?

SR should be just over $20, but if you haven’t tried it & cant find it that’s not rape prices. Now that being said, that 12 is rape. And yes, it’s around $30 msrp.

There is a Small Batch, Single Barrel, Bottled In Bond, Rye, Port Finish, etc. The Full Proof is a little over 120 ABV. Technically it’s not a Barrel Strength because it is cut before bottled. Really good, none the less.

Incorrect info.

 

Weller products have always been available in parallel to 'pappy' products, but historically have not been the same less being from the same distillery.

 

Weller 12 is the exact same liquid as the Van Winkle Lot B 12 year, and is completely different than the Rip Van Winkle 10 year. The only difference between Weller 12 and Lot B is that Julian Van Winkle 'hand picks' barrels, from Weller 12 stock, to be used in Lot B.

it's really good but i wouldn't pay much over retail for it. hopefully you got a good deal on it. i've seen where some places are selling it like it is Pappy (I haven't had a sip of Pappy so don't know the hype).
