Where are you guys playing that they allow you to bring a cooler on the premises (and with beer)? Unless you put a drink in the sleeve in your bag you don’t get past the starters in my area. Could be a state law in Maryland.

I’m at a private club and bring my own beverages.

Cart girl rolls up and I throw her a $10 bill. She laughs every time and says thanks for the “corking fee”.

I do buy pre and post round tho. $6 for a beer and $11 for a cocktail is a joke.

Ordered a Yeti Hopper Flip 8. Looks like it will fit nicely into a golf cart basket. Will update here once I get a chance to use it.

We have a local course that is County owned, $25 for a round and BYOB. I think there’s more people than teeth on that course on any given day. It is fun on occasion to play golf with a bottle of whiskey sitting in the cart though.

Most of my local courses won’t let you bring a cooler, and especially your own alcohol (the course can get fined and lose their liquor license, on top of whatever fine you get). In addition to bringing your own booze, the other problem is people leaving with the booze they bought. That is a separate liquor license (selling for off premises consumption), and again, they can lose their liquor license of you are caught with it.

Not Loyal Oak by any chance?

We can always tell when summer "officially" arrives because they put out the ball washer between holes 8 and 14 and you have to start wearing your "dress" T-Shirts.

$6/beer seems pretty standard at the municipal courses around here. Granted, it’s craft beer and not macro light beers. Those are probably $4.50-$5.00, but who would ever know.

Yeti hooper. Made to fit the cart baskets perfectly. And IMPOSSIBLE to not have cold drinks all day.

Yeah yeah theres cheaper clones out there blah blah.

You get what you pay for. I use mine 3-5 times a week, treat it like s***, and still performs every time. Never leaks never quits. Been going strong for almost 2 yrs and have 0 doubts its the last cooler ill buy for a very long time

No coolers allowed anywhere around here, except Lk. Nona, Isleworth, etc.

We use the cheap, flat six pack coolers sold in golf stores. Drop a couple ice packs in and go.

This is why Yeti's are nicknamed the red-neck Rolex

Yeti Hopper Flip 8....holds 6 cannons and ice no problem and fits great in the cart/basket with room to spare.

> After researching all the suggestions, I went with the waterproof Polar Bear 12 pack, currently on sale for $80.

I was able to play yesterday and test out the Polar Bear 12-pack. About 7 AM, I packed the following:

1. A 32 oz bottle of gatorade

2. Two 16.9 oz bottles of Core water

3. A power bar

4. One Kleager drink cooler

mltdxyugkm0g.png

5. One 10x10 Cooler Shock pack

biitp4rvx9sx.png

I finished my round about 1 PM. My experience:

1. The Polar Bear fit into the back cart basket perfectly. I am pleased with this, as I spent a bunch of time researching cooler sizes, and this is one of the reasons I went with the Polar Bear.

2. I did not "pre-chill" the Polar Bear, although the drinks were cold when I loaded it up.

3. The 66 oz of drinks (almost a 6-pack) fit pretty snugly in the cooler after allotting room for the cold packs. Max, I could have loaded another 32-34 oz. I think part of the issue was the bulk of the Kleager.

4. The Cooler Shock pouch was a pretty nice fit in the Polar Bear, serving as a "wall" of ice on one side of the cooler. Next time, I might use two Cooler Shock pouches as walls of ice on either side of the drinks (instead of the Kleager).

5. The edges of the Cooler Shock pouch are pretty sharp. "Paper cut" sharp. But they can be bent down easily. Just be careful. I may put some duck tape on mine.

6. I opened the Polar Bear probably a dozen times during the round, pulling out the drink, taking a swig and then putting the drink back. The waterproof zipper required a bit of effort but gave me no issues.

7. The drinks stayed ice cold all day! Literally. At one point, some ice formed in one of the drinks turning it into a slushy.

Overally, very pleased with the set up. Thumbs up.

Gift ideas?  Products I have tested.

Here, holds 9 cans, keeps everything cold, is soft so if you need to 'squeeze' it somewhere to hide it you kind of can and its cheap.

We just played a course, the guy who checked us in acted like he was running Augusta. We went to load up the cart and I squeezed this cooler behind our bags on the cart just in case he decided to take a hard look at our cart. Once we got past the first hole we put it in the basket.

The Ozark trail soft sided coolers from Walmart are excellent. They are knock offs of the knock offs and priced like it but their performance is very good and Walmart does a good job replacing them if they ever have an issue. I’m on my second year with mine, though the zipper broke on the first one I had. I took it back to customer service and they swapped it out no questions asked. For the price Ozark trail is hard to beat!

My bag has a cooler pouch on the front. It fits 2 tall bottles of water and 2 ice packs. I maybe buy a third bottle when I arrive at the course and depending on temperature may buy more at the turn.

That usually is enough for me.

I'm not much of a beer drinker.

If I know it is gonna be gross hot, i will ride instead of walk and use one of those soft side coolers...I'll usually have it half full with drinks from home and fill the other half with water/gatorade bought at the course.
