New Project X Hzrdus smoke shaft - 2018

Recommended Posts

Interesting, would be nice if they would release 80-85g options on their shafts

I honestly don't understand why this question gets asked every time..

Sorry love their products just need a heavier option

I actually have the HZRDUS black in 85 grams for my 3wood and it is a beast. I had to personally reach out to Project X and ask for the heavier option since it is tour issue only. They actually were nice enough to give me one for free!! Said it was my lucky day.

I have since bought 3 other HZRDUS shafts and will be a brand loyalist for life. Especially if they keep spitting out shafts like this newest offering!!

Surely there are ones, well.. like everyone on WRX... would use 80+g in woods. The point I was making is that we all know there is not enough demand for that for anyone to seriously consider releasing it in quantity. Yet the question gets brought up within the first few posts of every new shaft thread. The trend of the world is to make things lighter, not heavier, and stronger with advancement of new material and build techniques.

The black HZRDUS logo assumes its some sort of black profile.

I wonder if these are counterbalanced/higher balance point version of the black. The black is the opposite of counterbalanced, almost tip heavy. Counterbalanced seems to be the trend today with the heavy driver heads and 45"+ lengths.

They are really coming out with a lot of shafts. Will be interesting where this one falls in the HZRDUS family. Needing to find a new driver shaft as mines starting disintegrate on the inside, so I've been testing out a Black, but its just not quite the right fit.

Somebody said it earlier on this thread but my guess is it's a non-counterbalanced version of the T1100. Big fan of the HZRDUS line, though I do wish the Black was a little less tip heavy. Couldn't figure out the Yellow, not a huge counterbalanced fan.

I would think if it had T1100 fibers that it would mention it on the shaft somewhere.

I’m going to go with the others and guess a variant of the Black or between the Red and Black in terms of tip stiffness.

I would think that 80+ gram fairway shafts are still quite popular in the aftermarket.

I’d like my t1100 to have that finish please.... :(

No way!! T1100 has the best and coolest finish among all shafts to date IMHO. I only wish that finish was more durable.

Except that you are neglecting the concept of adding the weight strategically where you want. That is the whole concept behind counterbalancing.

There is also a physical limit where players can no longer "feel" the club because it is too light. This is why many players want a heavier shaft.

Reality is that they offered the T1100 up to a 95g weight. So there is no reason that they CAN'T make them heavy enough. It's more sad that everyone knows they will make them for the Tour, but force players who want them to jump through hoops because they won't acknowledge they exist to the general public.

I am not following the logic of counterbalancing and weight. It doesn't have to be 80+g to get a shaft counter balanced.

I was talking about releasing 80+g wood shaft to retail doesn't make sense for manufactures. What is interesting is that the picture of 95g T1100 I saw actually looks a bit off. It could be the lighting but the finish really doesn't look right. Even the butt sticker doesn't look like what was on the ones directly from PX lab. I would have to inquire TT about those.

Hey, to each his own. You like heavy shafts and it is all good. Those would be harder and harder to find for sure.

They can’t use the T1100 finish on this one. They would have to call it Smoke and Mirrors, and that is terrible marketing.

My take:

A "more playable" black profile that is more traditionally balanced to slighly counterbalanced. No T1100 as it is not mentioned in the graphics like the original T1100 or the EvenFlow White T1100.
