I wonder how many people will bag this over the P790 next week??

 

Probably dependent on how much tmag will pay a player to...

 

TM wouldn’t care if they had a 790 or this just as long as it is TM branded...

 

Ehhh pretty sure they would always prefer the newer product over the previous.

 

Since it's not been "released yet" I would think the P790 would still be their "preferred." That said there will obviously be some buzz from the open to push the new product.

 

Personally, I'm glad I got my P790 UdI.. It does what I need it to so I don't need to chase another driving iron!

Sounds like the Tour GAPR will come in adjustable hosel and a fixed hosel. That should make everyone happy!

Ah, so three models. I like the simplicity of it. Should make it easier for average golfers to fit themselves into the appropriate model.

 

Part of the problem with the 790 UDI was that it didn't fit slower swingers, but this would solve that. Also it'll help marketing, by making it a separate line that is visibly different from the 790 UDI.

Wait, are we thinking the lo/mid/high is for the launch window or for diff handicap levels? My first thought was handicap levels since the lo/mid both say "3" on them. But now thinking about it, some vanity golfers may not be cool with their club saying they are a high handicapper lol.

You'd think, that with it being a brand new club and still in the testing phase, TM could just make the head itself a little heavier? So lead tape wouldn't be necessary?

 

More to the point it has an adjustable weight behind the lead tape so surely they could have just added a heavier weight screw for the tiny difference that small strip of lead would have made

That screw may be there just to allow the 'speed foam' to be added...don't think it's really a weight screw!

My theory is that since the screw is on the bottom of the Hi and the back of the Lo it must be a weight screw that is changing the COG

Typically when weights have the raised dot in the middle they are not intended to be changed by the consumer.
