How long should it take for SM7 Raw wedges to rust?

I got a set of Vokey SM7 wedges a few weeks ago and I ordered them through my pro shop in the RAW finish. I've played a few times and they haven't rusted yet. I don't really know how to tell the different between the Raw and the Tour Chrome.

It depends on when you play. I play like 6:30 in the morning when dew is still out, mine started rusting after the 1st round. I also use neoprene head over that hold the moisture and they rust faster.

If you want to speed up the rust wash the head in vinegar.

Then dip it in water with salt in it.

Let it sit in the sun and it will stsrt to rust in about 20 minutes. ( nothing nasty).

If you want more rust repeat process.

After they look the way you want, wipe some wd40 on them.

I need to put some wd40 on mine, or gun oil. Like how there isn't any glare.

Step 1 Clean Micro Fiber Cloth

Step 2 Soak Cloth in Hydrogen Peroxide

Step 3 Pour house salt all over (and evenly) throughout wedge (the more salt the more rust)

Step 4 Place Wedge in cloth and wrap tightly. And leave over night

Step 5 Once happy with the extreme amounts of rust rinse in cold water

Step 5 Use brillo pad to make the rust even. use same directional passes to give it a more uniform look.

 

(this is going to create an awesome rusty patina!)

Depends on what you consider rusty. The OEM clubs will get a little surface dust, and a little rust spot here and there. But if you're looking for a true rust, take it to a metal stripper. They'll remove any coating including the nickel base (which most clubs have amyway), and you'll get a legitimate raw.
