I feel like this is going to big a BIG nope for me but I also feel it’s going to look better in person. Was anyone else tracking these because I haven’t heard anything about either of them.

Honestly I think he just wanted to throw something different out there... No way I'd ever buy it, but when some of his staffers (like Jimmy Walker) are switching to the Spider Tour, I think he's gotta be trying new things to get guys who used to use blades back with a Scotty Newport 2 with some extra forgiveness. I mean Scotty has never shied away from bringing different putters to retail; the original futura and the detours were all pretty odd at the time. Scotty is just doing what Scotty does, and he will sell some of these for sure. Is it for everyone? No way, but there's no harm in demo-ing one, and some people will definitely buy it.

Shame. I don’t like how it appears to be a Newport 2 with added on wings. I was hoping it flowed better, or transitioned to the winged section.

I agree besides the mark-up. At least he is trying to release something different.

 

As for his Detour 2 model, it’s actually a good putter after it’s modified with a terrylium insert.

The finish looks absolutely awesome, I honestly have trouble looking at my np2 in the bright sunlight sometimes. Definitely hope they bring this to either the custom shop or retail for the other blades

Do it yourself with a propane torch in like 10 minutes.

I cooked mine on bbq grill and got the same effect.

I like it but there's higher MOI out there and 6 stones is steep for the average non-Cameron collector.

I can already see the Circle T version of the X putter. Face will be offered in a GSS insert = $3,500. Another version will not have an insert and will be all SSS = $4,000.
