Yeah got an invite there once a couple of years ago, that's the Jack Nicklaus course in Temecula/Murietta area right? What a beautiful and difficult course. Hah hah hah, I remember a lot of difficult bunker shots. Great practice facility if my memory serves me right.

Played a course called Ocotillo and Look Out Mountain in July many moons ago there and yes it's hot, but also very low humidity. Played early and it was fun.

Hydrate and hydrate more. The heat and humidity combined will take out even the most fit. I love to play in the heat....until the heat becomes “kill ya hot” and then I try to throttle it back. This coming from a guy who has ended up in real heat trouble a couple times, not golf related. Learned this lesson the hardest of ways.

We're in Western Arkansas.

For the last month it has been over 98° in the evening.

We always play at 3:00 pm or later.

Last week the actual temp was 103° and the humidity was 93%.

We always walk and use a good push cart.

When it's that hot you need to drink a bottle of water almost every other hole.

Don't wait until you are thirsty.

My Son is on the high school golf team and they are practicing. All of their tournaments are in the evening.

I'm 52 years old and I can walk most of those teens in the ground.

Also, I am a self-employeed welder\machinist.

The heat doesn't bother me as much.

It helps to get outside early, and as the day gets warmer, so do you.

On the weekend, if I stay under the AC until 2 and then go outside it is tough.

Lived in Tampa Fl for a few years and the humidity was crazy. Moved back to Okla and I guess it followed me, but unlike Tampa, the temp also jumped up this year. I didn't realize that this area has the 3rd or 4th hottest summers, according to the weather channel. Having high heat and high humidity is a recipe for health problems for us seniors, but I remember what Winston Churchill famously said......"If your going through hell,........ keep going" :scare2:

In the Midwest when the temps rise above 90 degrees and the humidity chases triple digits it's time to be careful. It's playable but you really need to monitor yourself. I keep a wet towel draped over the cart window. It's amazing how much you can drop your skin temps by just wiping yourself down. I will also soak my hat in water to cool my head. Granted your sunglasses fog up. These are just a few safety measures I try and incorporate when the thermometer goes red. Also, it's a game of how fast I can find the next shade spot between shots.

Played all weekend here in Pensacola Fl heat index was around 111 humidity is absolutely brutal. I was soaking we just hitting a small bucket of balls on the range before teeing off. I would much rather deal with the heat than cold weather any day of the week though!!!

Well, humidity is only at 19%.

And there's a difference between California and the UK :)

Last Sunday it was only 29c but it was around 60% humidity. After such a lousy winter I refuse to complain about the summer but over two months of wall to wall sunshine and daytime temps in excess of 25c is not normal and takes some getting used to. Everywhere except the greens has gone brown (annoyingly my club appears not to be watering the tee boxes this year). My club also had a major irrigation problem two weeks ago which left four of the holes without proper watering for several days. They are recovering but one of them has only just got to a point where it's more green than brown. No idea what the irrigation problem was but instead of the usual square metre hole they've had to dig out several hundred metres of piping :-/

So, yeah, a great summer that has made up for the winter but..um..I wouldn't be too upset if we had a week of rain just to freshen things up and revitalise the fairways ;)

The worst I ever experienced was several years ago. A summer similar to this one so must have been a while back as the UK doesn't get this kind of summer very often. I don't know what the humidity was but I remember that my car was showing 29c as I arrived at the course. I teed off at half eleven I think. I hadn't been playing golf long at that point and I think I only has a small flask of water with me. That was Rye Hill which is a 6,900 yard course. Thinking back I really should have given up on the 13th when I was back near the club house but I carried on which meant walking up three steepish hills. I remember feeling sick and feeling a bit odd at one point. I finished the round okay but I think I pushed it a bit too far that day :(

That was when I was young and stupid. I'm not young any more ;)

Yeah, that's one thing about the UK. Temperatures nearly always drop back down below 20 overnight. That's why most people don't bother with airconditioning. Most nights all you need is a through breeze and it's common for people attending outdoor parties to arrive with a cardigan if they intend to stay late.

Here in Alabama the humidity is always ridiculous. 98% today.

Saturday I rode (normally walk) and it didn't even feel that hot. On the thirteenth hole I was walking down from a tee box, hadn't even hit yet, and my entire upper back locked up in a cramp. It was really weird and very uncomfortable. I guess I'd just not had enough to drink.

Stay hydrated out there

Has this summer been crazy all over the World? In Sweden we've bareley had any rain since the beginning of May. Last couple of days we've had 90 degrees where I live and it's supposed to stay the same for atleast 10 days more according to the weather forecasts. Courses are pretty much all yellow/brown and we have wildfires all over the country. And remember this is Sweden, it's supposed to be cold and rainy :D

Yah. We've had the occasional suggestion of light rain in our forecast but nothing has come of it since May here, either. It's actually gone a bit overcast here at the moment but is clearing up again. There is some suggestion of rain for the north of the country but where I am nothing for the foreseeable future. Several northern regions have just announced water restrictions but apparently where I am everything is tickety-boo because of the water we got over winter.

This is the kind of weather we normally get for a week here and there over summer.

3 of my last 4 outings have been 105+ walking and carrying 18. I guess I'm just used to it. Hit the ball, take a drink, do it again.

Last outing was 85 and a little humid. I prefer the 105+

Funny thing every time I almost had the entire course to myself.
