I find their stuff meh and way over priced. To me their best beer is the session, Hobo Life. They're a bit of a pariah around here with how aggressive they market and overconfidence about how good their stuff is, especially when CT/MA is flooded with beer that is much better IMHO. Where are you?

 

SIP is losing interest since it has now been around a while and it doesn't fit in with the new hazy IPA trend. It's still really solid but I don't go seek it out like I used to.

I'm in Meriden. Without having tried Lord Hobo I did feel as if it was overpriced, and I just couldn't bring myself to getting any with other offerings for less.

 

I think Sip is losing interest as well. I remember a time when I would just randomly ask if any was in stock, and most of the time I would get laughed at. At one store, I was taken to the back just because I asked and given a 4-pack from the store's own "secret" stash. But it's everywhere now, which makes me wonder if the quality has also possibly dropped.

 

My best friend lives in Charlton, MA and the new Treehouse brewery is literally 5 minutes away. I'll have to stop in one day and stock up!

IPA du jour is from Port Brewing, San Marcos, CA. I'm enjoying a Mongo Double IPA (8.5% ABV, 99 IBUs) at The Mint Restaurant and Ale House in Enumclaw, WA. Mmmmmmmmmmmm, tasty!

Had Breckenridge Brewery's version of Irish Stout the other night...I thought it was fantastic. Also been drinking alot of Left Hand Nitro Stout and Polygamy Nitro Stout. Both excellent.

Being in Meriden, your best bet close by would be CounterWeight in Hamden. They are making great stuff. These days I drink a lot of their stuff along with Kent Falls, Hooker, Armada and NEBCO. I make it up to Tree House once every couple of months, it is a must do if you haven't been there before.

Today was secondary fermentation day. Had to move the Dunkel and the Kolsch to their glass Carboys to cold crash for a few weeks. Smelled amazing, can’t wait to keg these. Should be ready for consumption the last weekend of September.
