where are the best golf balls made??

I think you're best off going with Titleist/USA if consistency is what you're after. They pride themselves on quality and use it in their marketing AND a substantial portion of their bottom line is golf balls:

Whereas with the Japanese Brands' (and the maybe JDM) golf balls, you may be able to buy the Honma balls for a few years and they are great. Then they might get outsourced like you fear since it's likely the balls aren't a significant source of their profits.

If Titleist moved ProV1, V1X, or AVX production, you can get you'd hear about it here and in all the news. If Honma or Mizuno changed golf ball production, there probably wouldn't be a peep.

A little known secret is that the tiny island nation of South Wyomingland, the soil yields some of the finest urethane found anywhere on the planet. At risk of being politically incorrect here, I should also add that the locals have a unique bone structure in their tiny hands that make them particularly talented in hand carving the finest dimples. The dimples are known to contribute to the highest spin separation of any ball. The hand crafted dimples are cut to tolerances of +/- 0000001".

It is rumoured that the legendary first generation Kirkland signatures where actually made in South Wyomingland then exported to the Costco in the US. This slow trickle of stock explains the limited releases.

So,the tiny island nation of South Wyomingland. This is where the finest golf balls are hand crafted, one dimple at a time. Until somebody learns how to mass produce golf balls in factories all over the world, the source of the finest balls is clearly defined and highly location specific based on the natural resources available.

There is no best ball.

Longest off driver - mg senior

Longest off irons - Taylormade tp5x

Most durable - Srixon z-star

Most spin into greens - Titleist ProV1

Best feeling - Wilson duo soft

Any premium ball is going to be well constructed and made with precision machinery.

Yeah but the MG senior you mentioned is non conforming---- I was thinking and I may be wrong but does Bridgestone have a ball plant in Georgia. I know for a while Dunlop had a ball plant in Greenville SC right beside I-85. With all the acquisitions etc I do not know if that plant exists any more. Last I heard TM owned it

Yes, Bridgestone has a ball plant in Covington, GA which is just outside of Atlanta.

MG Senior is non-conforming. Any non-conforming ball can be longer than a legal ball.

What day of the week are the best golf balls made?

Definitely not Monday, those little workers in South Wyomingland get pretty hammered on the weekend and are still hungover on Monday. They can barely carve a round dimple! Rumor has it, this is how Callaway came up with the hex dimple design after a sloppy drunk worker couldnt keep them round.....

in 21C, 'made in ____ country' becomes less relevant—and meaningless—in any industry. yes we'd love to see it in a simpler way i.e) made in USA = good, made in C = bad. not that simple any more. where it's made actually don't mean anything. it had been, it did maybe. it will not.

I tend to buy Titleist because they are made in America. The only country I have issue with is China even though most of the club heads come from China.

Driver: Callaway Paradym 9 set to 10 Draw

3W Callaway  Epic Flash

5w Callaway Epic Flash
Hybrids: 4-5 Epic Flash
               6-7 Big Bertha

               7 Ping G430 played as an 8

Irons: PXG Gen4 XP 9-GW

Wedges: PXG 0311 52 56 degree Forged

Putter: Odyssey Rossie Pro 2.0

Wherever THE ROCK IS!

WHEN WILL PING MAKE BALLS?!?!?!

Ping already left that market years ago

Yeah but they got the patents for the legendary RZN's don't they?

From Karsten

PING also purchased what appears to be a 2007 manufacturing process patent for the rotational molding of polymeric components for metal woods. This patent appears to cover what Nike called RZN, a strong, lightweight component which was used extensively in its Vapor Flex and Vapor Flex 440 drivers

Hey Hey I'm just being optimistic. Still haven't hit a ball that performs the same as the RZN Tour Platinum. Any suggs?

I can't imagine any of the top brands bypass QA/QC processes. They all manufacture a ball to the highest of tolerances, irrespective of whether their plant happens to be in America or somewhere in Asia.

Buy a Bridgestone, Callaway, Titleist, Srixon, Taylormade, Wilson, Honma etc and it is not going to be dodgy in any way at all. Buy a 36 pack of Uncle Joe's "Go far" balls for $5 and it might be a different story...

It wasn’t that long ago when even guys paying $48/dozen (back when that was real money!) had to sift through the box to find the ones that were round?

We live in the true Golden Age of golf and some people don’t even know it.
