Hole 18: Par 4 349 Yards| Kirksville Country Club

I have had many a ball wind up in the drink here.

Bunkers might look a little shoddy as they had just recently finished redoing the bunkers and sod surrounding them on all 18 holes.

I played eleven rounds last week on a trip from Spokane Washington to Deer Lodge Montana. It's a beautiful part of the country with lots of good golf. I haven't had a chance to upload all my photos yet but here are the first few:

I played Galena Ridge over Memorial Day weekend. It's really the only course in the area I hadn't played. Pretty crazy place to be honest.

Played The Virtues Club on a hot as hell Friday the 13th. I found the course to be extremely enjoyable and visually appealing. The green conditions weren't quite as good as I'd expect at the top rated public in Ohio but they were still above average.

Got out for quiet evening 9 holes on the front 9 of the Old Course at the Country Club of Scranton. I had to come back and play the 1st hole, that's what it's dark....

Few courses

Half Moon Bay - Ocean

Best weather I'd ever had playing out here. Made for a really fun morning.

Presidio

Was a neat course, but playing in the afternoon when the fog rolled-in made for some interesting holes.

Pasatiempo

Played this on the 4th of July and the pins were in some brutal spots, ex. last photo is #16 with the pin stuck as far left as possible on the middle tier.

Course was mint when I was out there a couple weeks ago. Seriously good course and awesome people that work there.

Is Presidio better than TPC?

I really don't think you can go wrong with either. I enjoy both, but for different reasons: Presidio is the shorter of the two on paper, but plays a few hundred yards longer with the elevation changes and is a tighter course - I'd say its the tougher course, but not unfair. There are some holes you just have to play target golf and have confidence hitting specific shots to score well. TPC Harding Park is longer and more exposed to the wind, but lacks the elevation changes of Presidio. I think it plays its most fun when a bit windy and you have to really weigh the risk/reward trade-off, calm can be a bit boring. Bit more open of a layout, but can easily grow some teeth if things get damp in addition to windy and its an exponential jump in difficulty.

If I wanted to just track personal stroke-play = Presidio

Match-play or similar game with friends = TPC Harding Park

what is your wrong with these pictures? Not a single house in sight except club house? :o

JK. I am from suburb where golf courses are surrounded by tract homes. Beautiful country.
