There has been talk of calling police, the FBI, the D.A., etc, but still nothing stops this guy.

 

The BEST thing to do is contact some investigative reporter in Louisiana. Give them the low-down, tell them to read posts, and more than likely they'll uncover him.

 

Reporters can get more info quicker than police nowadays, and police just don't have the time for petty clowns like this.

Jason is at work on another forum under the name Bayougolf. Looks like he has 3 or so victims there. One guy got his refund by threatening to go to the DA.

What ever happened to the PayPal issue... I am anxos to here because I just sold a couple of Golf items and I am getting an uneasy feeling about the PayPal payments. I immediatley removed the money and placed it in my bank account. Did they ever say anything about being able to take money from your account even thaogh you shipped the items on "Good Faith" I would be anxous to here how it all turned out.

i have done a few deals with Jason sending him some of the stuff i never used, so far I haven't been burned. a good friend of mine has done a lot of business with him & said he has not burned him yet but said he's running late on his payments. now that i have seen these posts i am reluctent to to send him any of my old stuff until i have received anything. kind of had a shady dealing with him a few weeks ago when he told me he had 3 r7 425 tp drivers but wanted to buy mine for $4,000, i just thought it was weird because why would you pay that much for a driver that you already have 3 of?

Can anyone tell me what this guy does with the stuff that is shipped to him but he doesn't pay for? If he has a new name every day it makes me wonder if I am PMing someone I can trust when it comes to buying stuff because I'm not able to say "ship me the goods and you will get your money". It makes the whole "safe haven" idea for this site go right out the door. Baton Rouge PD needs a swift kick in the a** to help them realize something needs to be done.

I wouldn't let a few bad seeds ruin it for you. There's numerous transactions on WRX, Ebay, etc. that occur everyday without any problems. The good out-weighs the bad in a majority of the cases.

I spoke directly to the detective who issued the warrant, as I'm the one who filed the initial complaint. He is in fact in jail. If you need to speak to the detective, pm me and I'll send you the contact information. Please call him if you have any pertinent first hand information. Don't just call to check and see if what I'm telling you is true. They have better things to do than satisfy your curiosity.

 

I'm putting together a blog with as many of the details as I can gather. It'll probably be Sunday before I post it.

Looper, I am one of Jason's victims and sent you extensive documentation to pass on to the detective about 2 years ago. I recently spoke to the new detective on the case and he assured me Charles Jason Smith would be jailed. So maybe our long efforts have born some fruit. I've written off a pretty sizable dollar amount but would love to see justice served and keep this guy off the "streets".

This might be off topic but what do you do to ensure this doesn't happen? Or be as sure as possible. I am about to buy my first item from the for sale forums and just want to make sure I am covering all my bases. My plan is to PayPal the person the money and they are able to ship the clubs next week. Do you normally wait to get the clubs to PayPal or does the PayPal usually come first?
