Sand Valley Temp Greens

Happy to hear that the temp greens are done! Played SV last year but have been dying to drive up and play it again along with Mammoth Dunes. BTW, do they offer the replay rate discount when jumping from one course to another? Or is it two full price rounds when playing each once?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you get the replay rate even if you switch courses.

No, we just came up for a day trip to SV. We were not staying at the resort; the staff still treated us like we were. One of our guys planned on carrying his bag, then got to the first hole and realized a push cart was probably needed. The staff brought him one (no charge) in 2 minutes. Starter was very friendly, gave a nice brief history of the course and tips on how to play holes 1 and 10. Prices for beer/food were amazing also. $2 for a domestic beer can, $1.50 for pork taco or beef brisket slider. Both were delicious. We are definitely making this an annual trip.

That's correct. If you're adventurous, they also follow Bandon's model of first round regular rate, second round replay rate, third round free, and fourth round they pay you $100.

Sand Valley was THE BEST course I think I played last year. Super Fun

They did it for the Summer Solstice event, as they handed me a $100 bill when I finished. You may want to verify the third round free, but the guy handing me the money concurred when I told my buddy about how they do that at Bandon.

You will love Mammoth Dunes, then. I felt Mammoth was bigger, flashier and better than Sand Valley....which was very good, btw.

Just got an email blast from them, so was thinking they'd not want to do that while still having temps.

We were at Sand Valley from 7/22-7/24, whole course was in-play with no temp greens! New space for their restaurant, Aldo's, opened that weekend too! It was an incredible golfing experience, we have a full trip report on our digital magazine. We'd go back in a heartbeat, so much fun, especially The Sandbox! Wisconsin is seriously a golf destination now!!
