Awesome posts guys, keep it up!

How are the wedges?!? They really look nice and would love to hear some feedback on them!

I've played one round with my wedges and so far so good. I love that the 60 has a little bit of a high toe feel to it without being so exaggerated.

Thaar - ain't nothing wrong with a hobo-looking headcover in your bag - it just shows that you've spent lots of time loving that club. My PING putter headcover is in rough shape, but it's done what it needed to do - protect my putter.

Have two rounds with the woods. Completely different feel than my previous callaway driver and 3 wood. Not a bad thing, just both the driver and the woods are more muted/wooden bat feeling. Not going to share arccos data just yet as two rounds really don’t show much especially with one of them being into a head head wind most of the day.

The blue camo driver looks gorgeous. The Nardo woods looks great as well. Initially had a bit of an issue pulling shots left with some hook on it although that was certainly my swing for the day apparently as the irons followed suit. The second round I put the woods on neutral setting instead of the draw and saw some good things. May go back to draw at least on the driver to see if I can get a little better contact going. The 3 wood and 6 wood I have been able to turn over quite well actually and been putting a little draw on the ball. 14.5* 3 wood is actually not too bad to hit off the deck as I was worried it might be. May have to lift it up at some point to see what would be a better fit for me, but I’m pretty happy with it.

Shaft wise, not really loving the tensei blue. Don’t have a specific reason why as of yet, but it just doesn’t seem to feel bleh compared to the helium I have been swinging in the callaway lately. After a bit more testing and gathering more data, I will probably switch the helium into the head. Only reason I’m not going to now is because I’m not going to buy a new cobra connect grip for it haha. Which is what cobra reall wants us playing with to give our thoughts on the entire setup with cobra connect. Not just the club. So until then haha.

Update on my irons: 7-pw is backorderd until 8/12. Utility back ordered until 9/2

Hybrid/6iron/wedges should be arriving next week. Doesn’t look like I’ll be here though.

I thought I’d add an update on my experience with SL so far.

I’ve played a few rounds and had a few range sessions.

I will say, as an old coot (40+ years of playing) it took me some time to get used to the

new lengths and balance points. Long and mid irons are solid, but the shorts irons are a work in progress.

Here is my Arccos data so far:

The 8 iron data is not accurate yet, not sure why but I’ve only used it a couple of times and two of which were under tree shots. I’ve changed the shaft on the driver and it’s made a huge difference.

I went lighter and on my last round I got one out there near 300y!!

Interestingly, these # are very similar to the results I had before, the nice part is, my driving handicap & approach hdcp are trending lower. If I can continue to fine tune things....

A couple of questions for SL users;

The shafts and heads all weigh the same so the SW are the same,

but coming from VL where the total weights are different, has anyone

experimented with different weight shafts?

This is backwards, I know but if you used lighter weight shafts in the short irons and got progressively heavier going up, the total weight of each club would be closer to a VL set?

My iron shafts were installed to be flighted, ie, softer long irons and stronger short irons by the way they were tipped. So really the flex is different, not the bend point?

(I get that the flex point is different in different flex’s but not to the extent a differently constructed shaft would be when comparing a high trajectory shaft to a low trajectory shaft)

Has anyone used different flex point shafts in building a SL set?

One round in the books thus far. Didn't swing the club all that well, but had a great score (for me) at an 83 for a difficult course (141 slope) that I've never played. The one thing that really stood out for me were the wedges on full swings. I was money with them and loved the feel. They don't create as much spin as my Mizuno MP-T5's, but they still hop and stop for me. The OS hybrid and 4w were awesome too. Both are so easy to hit and are hot. I only hit the 4w once, but was really impressed on how well I hit it for what I thought to be a mediocre swing.

I struggled with the driving iron off the tee yesterday, and was just ok with the driver and irons. That had more to do with my poor swing than anything else. Fortunately, other parts of my game were good to rescue myself from bad tee shots. My putting was quite good yesterday too with only 31 putts, so that certainly helped!

Had a nice surprise show up at my door last night!

I was so excited to take them out to the course today! Unfortunately I hurt my shoulder last night in a hockey game so I wasn't really able to swing all out. That said, I am loving the feel and look of these clubs.

The 4 hybrid was fantastic! Launches ridiculously high with no effort at all and really straight. Can't wait to attack some par 5s with this thing. It launches a little too high off the tee for me, but could still be a good option depending on course conditions.

Despite the injury I was actually swinging the driver pretty well. Only about 250 or so and did get a hold of one or two. But it was way better than how I was swinging while getting fitted. Like others have mentioned the sound is more of a muted thwack, I think the wooden bat comparison is spot on. Some might not like it but I love it!

Only hit the 3 wood once I think off the tee. On the 18th, a par 5, I flushed one pin high from 280 out! Again a different feel/sound than I'm used to but not in a bad way.

Wedges were great, though my stats won't really show it. I had absolutely no touch today but the wedges performed great off of some really tricky lies. Also had a few bunker shots, not really many full swings though as my shoulder just wasn't gonna handle it. Hopefully it'll feel better when the irons come in.

Just gotta wait for the irons and utility now! I'll try and get some better pics as well.

Another round in with the woods and I’m certainly becoming more comfortable with them.

One thing I am loving about the woods are the rails. I’ve had a few shots from the rough that weren’t lies I wouldn’t typically hit a wood out of. While the shots came out a little lower than say using a hybrid, it was very easy to get to the ball and predictable with very little distance loss. One even came out flyer status with my 6 wood and went about 3 wood distance.

Hybrid, wedges, and SL 6 iron is waiting on me when I get home. Excited for those.

Played a very tough track today and felt like it went pretty well with the new sticks. I only missed 1 fairway all day off the tee. There is definitely a learning curve with the one length hybrid. I hit some REALLY bad shots with it today. The wedges will also take some getting used to. I went with the wide low bounce on the 60 and it's definitely different. I LOVE the irons. They feel great and am getting very consistent numbers with them. (at least for the first round)

Overall after 1 full round with the new bags.

Woods/Hybrids - I'm in love. The driver is very consistent. It seems like i'm hitting it a bit shorter however my misses today were basically non existent. I'll take that everyday of the week. The fairways feel very solid and love the smaller head shape of the f8+.

The OS hybrid has to be my favorite club right now. Its not made of carbon fiber so it has the old tingy sound that I've been used to with pings. Its like a mini wood that just goes high and straight every time. No worry about going left with this thing.

Utility - Jury is out. LoL

Irons - So far so good. Love the finish and the way they frame the ball

Wedges - 50 and 54 are solid. Not sure on the 60* grind choice i made with the AZ conditions.

More to come.

Yay all but my utility came in while gone for the week. It was a nice return surprise haha.

Here are some initial photos. I’m hoping to get out tomorrow to play and take some good ones with proper light.

I do enjoy how they look. Obviously a bit bigger than Im used to haha but no big deal. Did go to the range for a quick session just to get a feel. Very easy to hit. My favorite was the SL 6 iron. It was very comfy to hit and did seem to give me proper yardage. I can’t wait to get these out in the course and start getting data. Only club I know I’ll have to work on already is the SL hybrid. It was a really different feel things were taking off low and left. The wedges are pretty dang sweet. I haven’t had new wedges in about a year or so and I realized how much my grooves were worn. I was stopping balls very quickly and predictably on the practice green with my chromesofts.

Thus far I have been very impressed with arccos. I have been following along the arccos 360 thread and I think most would agree that it is very good. Some have had issues with shots not recording or multiple shots recording but I haven’t had any of that. Only “issue” I’ve had would be putts not recording. Although that is on me as some tap ins I’m just going real quick at it and not setting up as they request in the booklet. 360 sensors have been great. They are a bit large though and I did have issues with them coming slightly in screwed on thin shots. Also had some scratches/markings while being pulled and out into the bag. I’m very excited to really put through the cobra connect version of the clubs/grips. They seem unobtrusive and paired very simply. I will also take pics of the grip as well so you can see tomorrow.

Been a little bit, but I wanted to try and get a few rounds to see yardages and what not.

PLayed twice with the new set and its been a good time. two 84s that were actually pretty frustrating haha. both were good and hot starts that ended up fizzling in the middle with decent endings. Irons look absolutely great for the most part. The black does help with their size/offset (not like they're huge, but much bigger than my Fg 100s haha). Wedges are doing pretty good in the chipping and pitching department. It's been a while since I last changed out my 60 and apparently I needed to.... the first practice session I did with them, I was leaving everything very short due to extra check I was getting from the new grooves. With that knowledge, I have been chipping very very good the first to rounds ( I will upload my data from arccos soon). Having less than 29 putts both rounds due to having basically tap ins after chipping. The problem was that not all tap ins were for pars.... or even bogeys on some haha.

I received the correct shaft finally in my driver. I wanted to play it a few rounds before I made a change in it. I can certainly say the tensei 70 is much better for me than the 60, but it still just doesn't seem right most of time. it feels a little dead at impact, which I like to feel a little kick. It does do a good job of controlling my spin I feel, but I need to get on a sim to see what's actually happening there. Biggest thing is that it is a tad shorter than my callaway setup. I mean average/smart distance wise, it's right there, but the amount of drives over 260 with this setup is lower... obviously that could be due to many factors, like conditions of the course, and more than likely not the driver haha. The data with the arccos has been fun to compare even with only two rounds with these.

Overall, i can already see a difference in some parts of my clubs that I was having issues with my old setup. Since I wasn't able to get fit for irons and wedges, I went with an experiment based on what Arccos told me with the Wilsons. Basically I had no real difference except on perfect strikes between my 3h/4/5/6 irons. This go around, I went with a 6 wood, SL hybrid, SL 6 iron, and then Progressive set 7-PW. Still getting used to the SL hybrid, but the 6 iron i have thoroughly enjoyed hitting. It does fly a little lower on general hits, but if I go at it, i can get it up in the air a good bit. The gapping throughout though is there. Not enough hits to see it truly separated, but I can see a trend where as with my wilsons, it was like pulling a card and guessing at what you're going to get distance wise unless you hit it well haha.

only club I am having an issue with is the 50* wedge..... I know im no scratch player, but the yardages have not been to my liking and gapping weirdly between the PW and the 56. not sure if it is a loft issue, but I would assume its a me/delivery issue. I am more than likely coming into the ball like a wedge and not an iron. That's fine on partial shots, but for a full shot it tends to just pop up and land about 20 yards short of where i need it :/ . I am planning to go into the golf store I visit to have all my specs looked at to make sure they are where they need to be, so we will see then I guess.

This weekend a few buddies and I went out of town on a golf trip. The Arccos app and data were EXTREMELY helpful when playing unfamiliar courses. A friend of mine has the Garmin GPS device and he was constantly asking me yardages to specific bunkers and hazards. For courses you've never been to and don't have GPS it is VERY hard to beat the arccos system. Especially when you factor in the shot data that it is collecting. I can't imagine playing without the app now.

Sorry haven’t updated in a bit but football season obviously has started and been dealing with lots of injuries and treatments so haven’t played in about a week or two? Something like that haha.

Any who, hopefully should get out Sunday and get some more data. Need a couple more to really get something going in order to compare to my previous set and cobra connect versus arccos 360.

My data is still building and normalizing. Played last night and did pretty well. Getting more comfortable with the new irons. I think it’s safe to say the rock stars for me though are definitely the single Lankes long irons/hybrid. I had the harbor for the first time off the tea last night for a shot of about 195-ish or so yards. Ended up hitti my data is still building and normalizing. Played last night and did pretty well. Getting more comfortable with the new irons.

I think it’s safe to say the rock stars for me though are definitely the single length long irons/hybrid. I hit the hybrid for the first time off the tea last night for a shot of about 195-ish or so yards. Ended up carrying just passed the flag and bouncing off the back of the green for total of about 210 or so. The thing was a missile with that nice tight draw. Hit it one more time in the round off the turf and I just put a really bad swing on it and hit a little topping cut that one about 150 yards or so. The single length six iron is pretty dang good as well for me. Although it seems to be hit or miss on my distance. Middle of the face type hits I have had go either 175 to about 195. Not so good contact has ranged me anywhere between 155 and 170. Although, yesterday I had three shots with it all relatively quality contact and the range with a lot tighter. One went about 175 into a slight breeze. One with 180 with no real affecting wind, and the other one about 165 into a 10 to 12 mile an hour wind. Pretty comparable in my opinion. I am starting to get really comfortable with it as my 175 club.

Now I know this is supposed to be about cobra connect. Unfortunately, I haven’t had enough rounds yet to really start analyzing the data three truly accurate for me. I probably need three or four more rounds to really get a good idea of how it looks at my data. I will say though that it’s very simple to use. For the most part I haven’t had a single issue with anything other than a few greens not been mapped correctly at a couple of courses I play. I try to move the flagstick to where it was at on the green and it ends up jumping 30 yards closer into the front part of the green or Fairway because I’m guessing it’s not mapped as a green where I was trying to put it. Typically I don’t have an issue with this as I’ll just put the pan as far back as I can on the green, but I know that can someone affect some distances occasionally. Mostly like the first putt. Randomly it will skip/not detect my Threewood, but it hasn’t been consistent enough where I need to run the diagnostic tool/repair it. I am assuming it more than likely is due to how the phone is sitting in my pocket. I have learned that the phone in the pocket is essential, because of either sensing the motion of your swing, but also it uses the speakers in the phone to detect the sound of a ball strike. Pretty insane to me. Apparently that is why the android Version took a little bit longer as those phones can have a lot more speakers and harder to detect shots apparently.

I’m done rambling ha ha. Sorry if this is a lengthy post. If you make it all the way through and you have any questions please let me know I’d be more than happy to answer them for you. I’m excited about continuing with Arccos Golf and more about my game. I do believe that this is a big reason why I have gotten so much better in the past 6 to 8 months.

Thought I'd give an update since I haven't posted here in a while. So my entire bag is set now. Unfortunately, my shoulder injury was a little worse than I originally thought. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I was finally able to get some rounds in the last couple of weeks. Numbers are still a bit all over the place, but in 3 of the 4 rounds I played, I hit 8, 6, 7 greens respectively! Normally 5 is pretty solid for me, so coming off nearly a month without swinging a club I was ecstatic! The 4 hybrid is a real gem! I have so much confidence with this club. Before we got our new clubs I was noticing I was coming up short way too often, so I've been focusing on improving that. Sure enough I've been either pin high or long way more consistently and the dispersion is getting so much better!

This Arccos data has been a God send for my game! Putting and chipping was an absolute nightmare due to not playing for so long, and the data shows it, so I'll be spending a lot of time working on that.

The injury might have been a blessing in disguise as I've spent a whole lot of time focusing on mirror work to try and shallow my transition out and it's starting to pay off. Shoulder still isn't 100% but it's close so the numbers should start to correct here soon. I still can't get over how effective and convenient this Cobra Connect system is! The distances still have some weird gaps and I'd like to start using the caddie feature a little more but I really can't recommend this system enough!

hoping someone can help me out this weekend since arccos support is closed.

I got cobras w connect in may and at that time, signed up for the free year of caddie and paired all my clubs. about a month or two ago I got a new wedge and paired it with no problem. FF to today and another new wedge and when I try to pair it tells me I have to “pay for a shot tracking subscription”. I have no “subscriptions” in my apple app store settings like arccos’s FAQ says, nor can I see any subscription info on the arccos site.

I just wanna pair my new wedge and play!

Got A good amount of rounds down and starting to sit down to do a write up here soon. Quick sneak peak, I have gotten better over the oast 3-4 months and you can see that my gapping is much better than before. Arrcos is pretty dang sweet the info it gives you can certainly shape your game/show you what needs to be worked on. No matter your skill level.

Hopefully will be able to get the review up by Sunday.

My cobra connect experience:

I have a write up about my fitting earlier in the thread. I believe one of the first 2 pages. This is about my experience with the connect system that is now available with all current generation Cobra clubs from the F8 Drivers, all the way to the wedges.

With my prior set up of clubs, we received an Arrcos 360 package to put in our standard gamers. I had played with Game Golf before, and figured this would be similar except I don't have to remember to tag my club.... YAY! After a few rounds though, I noticed that the information I was getting, while similar, was more informative to me. Not only did it have an "average" distance, but it gave me a range, high, and of course the amount of uses. All which are pretty good info for me to have. It also provides you with typical stats that most apps will give you such as FIR/GIR/Putts/Etc.

Great thing after getting fit/choosing my clubs? I got to try out a new grip which I needed to since, I am planning on moving from my Best Grip Microperfs. I had heard some good things about the UTX so I decided what the hell. Maybe I can use these without gloves like I am used to playing without, and it will still provide good feedback. Unfortunately, the UTX is not as tacky or grippy as I have read. It actually becomes very slick and "greasy" when it gets humid or when it rains.

Looks:

The cobra connect system is pretty damn sweet when it comes to the looks. I mean, for some i guess. I know many have complained of or been bothered by the 360 "knob" sticks out at the end of the club. Didn't really bother me, but I could see how many may not like it. The worst thing about the knob is mishits.... if you hit a shot thin or just plain miss, it backed out of the end of the grip many times (at least for me). Didn't loose any, but it was a worry at times. The cobra connect grips are nice though. They add .25" to the total length of the club which shouldn't be a huge deal, but if it is, then you can obviously just cut the club -.25". With it being right inside the grip, it is obviously very similar to a grip without the sensor.

IMG_2283.jpg

Use:

This thing is almost dummy proof while using. In terms of shots being recorded, I didn't really have an issue with any clubs except the 3 wood. It was working at first, but then it stopped recording shots. Thankfully, the app has a troubleshooting aspect to see if the sensor is still working and just needs to be paired again, if its dead, or if its damaged. The biggest thing that some people may not enjoy about using the connect is that your phone does need to be in the front left pocket. This is due to the app using the phones speakers and I believe the accelerometer to know when shots were being hit. Not a huge deal for me as I typically keep it there anyhow as I use the Grint to track my rounds live and usually mark my stats on the green while others are finishing up.

One thing that I did have to do every time walking off the green was obviously mark my flag location, and rough distances of putts. After one or two rounds this became very easy and fast unless I was playing a course that wasn't mapped well. Even then it was simple enough and a quick email to Arrcos and they got it going.

A cool new feature that they've added recently and seem to continuously be working on is the Caddie feature. I didn't use it a ton as it basically gave me the same info every time (hit driver because you're distantly challenged haha), but I could see this being such a cool and useful tool for new courses and for those that really need to have options off of tees either due to length or driving ability.

Stats:

The Stats I received over the past few months have truly helped me get better. Some of it I already knew due to the Grint. What helped the most though was knowing my proper gappings and max distances as well as my smart distance.

IMG_2284.png

Now I know Im not WRX long haha, but I was happy with my gappings once I received my Cobra clubs. I didn't include the last few wedges due to they aren't used for anything but partial shots any how. My before cobra bag was very jumbled. I need to take them to my shop and get the lofts checked out. They are also blades though, so Im sure it just mainly due to me not being consistent enough haha.

IMG_2285.png

These little handicap breakdowns for the different parts of your game is really neat. Really shows me what I truly need to work on. The biggest thing I couldn't figure out with the handicap breakdowns were my driving though..... Many rounds I was hitting anywhere between 60-80% of my fairways, but yet my handicap was like above an 18.... What 18 does that haha. Im guessing its due to my distance and the variation in my distances during the round. I would have a long of 270 something and a short of like 205 from a mis hit. Although I did have one round with 100% fairways hit, average distance of 230 and the handicap was still above a 12. Not sure how it works. The great thing was it told me sort of what I knew about my game, but it showed me how much of a difference I was at in those different aspects of my game. ALthough, I did think my chipping was better than it was haha. I guess that's just covered a little by my putting.

IMG_2286.png

With this, you can see why my approaches are basically the worst part of my game (I still don't think my driving is whatever that thing says). I tend to be short. While I know its not because I don't know my distances (hello I have the arrcos to tell me what they are :) ), Its mostly due to layouts of the courses I typically play. Going long on most of them is dead, so I will typically play to the middle of the green distance wise. Also, we were having some really strong wind days and I was having issues flighting the Forged tecs down well enough to not be beat to death. Either way, I need to work on striking the ball and getting it on the green. I have been better at it lately as I know I can putt well enough where a few will fall and I usually don't 3 putt. No more going for pins haha.

Overall I really enjoyed this experience as I got to try some new clubs that I wouldn't have even thought about, and I got to use a great game improvement system. I want to thank Cobra, Arrcos, and GolfWRX so much for this opportunity and I hope i fulfilled my end of the deal. I hope some read this and it helps them make a decision whether or not the cobra connect experience is correct for you. Cost may be a little higher than some want, and I'm not sure I can get behind the subscription process they are doing, but If you want to know what is going on in your game and what is hurting/helping you? This is it.

Thanks!

Well, I was trying to wait until I got my 10 rounds in with the new clubs before writing my final review…Unfortunately, I got sidelined by weather several times, a new job (yay!), and kids fall activities to get my last few rounds in over the last couple months. So with that, I provide my final assessment on 9 of the 10 rounds as the weather around here certainly hasn’t been cooperating lately!

I don’t think it’s really helpful to rehash and post a lot of the same graphics and information that have been posted here, so I’m going to try to keep this somewhat brief...probably unsuccessfully :)

Before diving in, it can’t be said enough that the guys at Cobra Puma Golf are top notch, and have a great passion and vision for the game. I’m excited to see how they continue to develop the brand, technology, and equipment.

The timing of getting my new clubs was pretty optimal to give the Arccos system a good test – I received them just before my men’s club championship where I put them into play on a course I was obviously very familiar with. It allowed me to see how the Arccos system aligned with my thinking on how the course should be played. I played average overall, but this had nothing to do with the clubs or system themselves – I apparently enjoy being dumb the night before big tourneys and likely will never learn .

Once we wrapped up the men’s club season, I played a few new courses which really put the Arccos Caddie system to work. I was a bit skeptical relying on the system, as earlier on in the year, I had some really questionable club suggestions, but was pleasantly surprised as how helpful it really was. Sure, it had a couple club suggestions that I didn’t agree every now and then, but that’s no surprise.

The one feature I really like about the Caddie function is the predicted hole outcome based on using a certain club. There have been times where I’ve struggled with the driver, but have been hitting the 4w or 4h well, so you can see alternate outcomes using a different club depending on how you’re playing that day. For example, it may suggest that I use 4w off the tee with an expected score of 4.2, but using the driver would be an expected score of 4.3, and 4h 4.6. I find having this information at my fingertips really useful in helping determine which club to hit.

The Caddie function also is available for the remainder of the hole. It takes into consideration elevation and even weather conditions, though this is dependent on how close a weather station is to your location so it may not be that accurate.

The system has really gotten better as the season progressed. Some of this is obviously attributed to the data points recorded about my game, but the technology has definitely improved as well. Perhaps that’s partially due that I’m on an Android device, which lags behind iOS development, but regardless, I’ve been really happy with its performance and overall helpfulness.

As a testament to Arccos Caddie feature, of the three new courses I played, I had two of the best scores of the season! I also have seen my handicap drop a point from the time I received my new clubs. Not bad for not being able to play very often lately! Between the GPS maps, elevation data, weather information, club data, and Caddie suggestions, it really has some fantastic tools for you to help your game!

Additionally, I haven’t had many issues with Arccos recording my shots as I did before. It may miss 1-3 shots per round now, so it’s fairly manageable and appears to be improving. I’m curious whether that has to do with the integrated grips vs the add-on sensors, or if it’s a programming improvement in the app.

A quick word on the clubs now that I’ve had them for a bit – they’re sweet! I struggled to get along with my driver for awhile initially, but now we’re ok and won’t be getting divorced anytime soon.

4w – what a beast and easy to hit. I almost hit it as far as my driver.

4h – Mr reliable.

Irons – great looks and feel, while still forgiving on mishits.

Wedges – deadly. The 55* is probably my favorite club in my bag.

My gapping has improved overall from my previous set too. You can read about my fitting experience earlier in this thread, which was awesome!

All in all, I think the system is great, and continues to get better. I love all the data it records for me to digest – I probably spend way too much time reviewing my last round and data. Data is useless without understanding how to use it to improve your game – Arccos helps make this information more easily understandable for the end user.

I’m excited to see new features added and my stats being refined further to give me even better information on the course. If I can get my ego out of the way and listen to the suggested club choices more often, maybe my game will even improve significantly too!

So again, thanks to both WRX and CPG!

After taking a few months off, I’m back at it.

Here’s my most recent round with my new F9 added

The driving stats is a bit misleading, the course is on the top/side of the hills.

Windy and hitting uphill doesn’t lead to long drives but pretty solid for me.

Loving the sound and feel of the F9 !!

Again putting is my savior, 6 one putts...
