How do you do this? I have an imgur account, uploaded a couple photos, and then tried to add them to a post but I get a message like "cannot use that extension in this community". Is there a step I'm missing?

In this window copy the "direct link" and use the image icon above to paste the link.

I've tried this a few times again now, and I still seem to be getting the same error of "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." Perhaps because I am copying the link from my mobile phone, but for whatever reason it's not working for me.

It's a photo (JPEG - .jpg) on my mobile device, which I upload to imgur directly from my phone. Then from the imgur mobile app I have been clicking the "Share" button, and copying the link to clipboard. I then use that URL for the image properties.

Does the image have to be "public" on imgur? I have been making the posts "private" when uploading to imgur. Or perhaps the "direct link" from a PC browser is not the same as the Share link from mobile device?

Can you show me the link you're using? If it's not the direct link, with the file extension, then it won't work. For example:

The link I am getting is like the bottom, it seems on mobile device (I'm using chrome browser on Android phone) there isn't an option to get the "direct link" as you instructed. Or at least not that I have found yet. Appreciate the response.

I've been doing that with some, but worry about the space limit and having to delete photos down the road. Also, I haven't found a way to do that from my mobile phone either. I have to email them from my phone to my inbox, and then upload using the "full editor" on a PC.

Seems similar to the "Direct Link" method, except it adds the HTML tags for you - have you found a way to get the BB Code from the imgur app on a mobile device? I found if I use Chrome to go the actual website vs using the imgur app I can access the "Direct Link" or "BBCode", so that'll work. Just thought using the app would be simpler if possible.

Deleting photos is easy when the time comes, eventually you get the “photo is to large” message when you run out of room, open a new window, go to your profile, click edit, manage attachments, delete from the back end until you have enough room. It only take 3 minutes to delete photos and no need for 3rd party sites. :)

I usually post from my Pixelbook rather than my phone so I'm not sure about the app.

It is/does but that’s why I delete from the back end/oldest photos first. They are typically old/irrelevant by the time it’s time to delete them. :)

As others have said, Imgur is the way to go. It's not great for uploading on mobile though. I haven't figured out the best way for that either. I much prefer hosting the photos externally - I never like reading through old threads via search that have all of the photos missing.
