Are bucket type hats accepted in all venues, like upscale or private courses?

 

Haven't had problems with bucket hats, at any venue yet :)

 

In the 60's, many pros, including Jack, wore bucket hats on Tour.

 

Today, one of the major hat manufacturers offers a model of bucket hat called "the Nicklaus".

 

So, acceptable anywhere, imho, no matter how posh the Club thinks it is.

I bought an Imperial Geysir earlier this year and used it at the beach. It's a little too floppy/unstructured for the course IMHO. I gave it to my son to use at band camp this summer and it seems like he wants to keep it.

 

My grandad always wore bucket hats while fishing. They were cotton or poly, and the tops were fairly light/unstructured but the bills would hold shape. He wore them with the rear bill popped up, like Nicklaus.

 

I wonder which Imperial bucket would work like that?

posh courses should also be anti skin cancer.

 

i had popped collar, bucket hat and m-frames working this weekend. dermatologist scared sh** out of me a few months back so i'll be sporting a sombrero for the foreseeable future.

I bought a $6 bucket hat made for fishing at Ross that has a mesh strip in between the sweat band and top of the hat. Best hat purchase I've made in a while.

Personally I love the look and the wife doesn't mind either (I know, that surprised me as well). The Imperial bucket it great, super light and the brim is sturdy as anything else out there. I alternate this one with a gray REI bucket.

New to bucket hats in golf but I do quite like them now. Only had 1 round with my Kangol on my noggins in 102* heat but it did keep the sun out and my head pretty cool. Have to look for some more but I need the brim to be short due to my vertical swing where I finish pretty close to my left ear.

 

I think this style of hat may stay for this summer. Well, I know I need to get a water proof bucket hat for when the rains start in Dec/Jan, the regular caps do not cut it.

My Nike sun hat 2.0 showed up today and it is amazing. Stiff brim. Longer on the back to protect the neck and the material on the head is thin and very breezy. Can’t wait to get it on the course

I find them to be so hot compared to the normal golf hat, but I would wear them otherwise even though they look ridiculous. My dad had a chunk of his ear taken off due to the sun. After seeing that I don't think you can ever be too careful when it comes to protecting yourself from the sun.
