New Ping Vault 2.0 putters (thanks, tod071)

Recommended Posts

Do these weigh the same no matter the length? For example, the B60 says 355g. Is that for all lengths?

Correct me if I am wrong (anybody) but I assume that is head weight. Full club weight will vary by length, but head weight should remain consistent; with the only variable being the interchangeable weights.

from PING

The next generation of PING’s 100%-milled putters are crafted and engineered to provide tour-caliber touch and performance through proven innovations like precision-milled, patented True Roll Technology (TR), plus a new custom-weighting system. The new system offers sole weight options in steel (standard-weight head), tungsten (15 gms heavier than standard) and aluminum (15 gms lighter than standard) to match a golfer’s feel and balance preferences. Available in three premium finishes

Did anyone pull the trigger right away on the Vault 2.0 Craz-e H? I believe its release date was the Monday just gone. How does it feel compared to the other toe hang mallets on the markets? Nowhere in my locality has it stocked.

I might have to give the new Craz-e a go. Made a lot of putts with one of those back in the day.

A new ZB! Just take my money now!!!

I bought a copper ZB at the same time I got the Ping Sigma Tess.

Edited to add that Ping can customize any of these - to a point. I tried to get the ZB with an aiming line instead of the dot, and while they CAN do it, I was told they would need to make the line wide enough to cover the dot. I figured that would be weird, so I bought it as is.

Thought I'd post my newest addition to the family. All Stealth Anser Dale with white sightline, heavy weights, pp58 ping black-out grip.

I love the look of that! I have a 2.0 Stealth Voss. Did you buy it from ping like that or buy it from a shop and send it to ping to have them do the shaft and paint fill/ weights?

The guy I bought it from ordered it that way from Ping he said. Unfortunately, I've already sold it. Blade putters just don't fit my game.

Would have loved to have seen the Craz-E with a slant neck?! ;)

Second that!!! This has been my longest standing wish for PING for quite some time!

Also a slant neck for the Tyne with a solid body & milled face.

Along with a centre shafted Tyne.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Do Ping offer customization option such as adding additional sight lines?

I don’t know about adding a sight line but I just sent in my vault 2.0 Voss to have painftill done and put the heavier weights in along with swapping it for a black shaft. Didn’t think all of that was possible until I called their customer service line. It’s worth a try

Can these Vault 2.0 putters be starshot?

I don't see why not. The original Vault's could be. From my experience with star shot and bugging the people at Ping's repair dept. They will star shot any putter unless it was plated originally.

Side note. They will also star shot putters with face inserts, if they still have the face insert in stock. (ie: Cadence or Sigma G) They have to remove the insert to do the star shot process. Then install a new insert after the star shot is completed.

My Current WITB:

Ping G400 LST - Project X EvenFlow T1100 White 6.5

Ping G - 5 & 7 Wood - Project X EvenFlow Blue 6.5

Cobra Amp Cell - 4 Iron – Project X EvenFlow White 6.5

Ping i200 5-PW – KBS Tour

Ping Glide 4.0 Stealth 50,54,58 – TT Dynamic Gold

Cobra Vintage Stingray-40

I received my Vault 2.0 ZB Stealth late last week. It’s a beautiful putter with great balance. Unfortunately, when unboxing the putter, I noticed a small chip or scuff on the heel of the putter where you can see a bit of “silver” coming through the finish. I also found another faint scratch with the slightest bit of steel coming through. Although the marks a very small, for a $300 premium milled putter, I expect it to be flawless out of the box.

I went back and forth on whether or not I should exchange the putter, and, today, I decided to take it back to Golf Galaxy. We contacted PING who asked us to send them the putter to examine the damage. Now I’m in a waiting game. Needless to say, I’ll be extremely upset if they refuse to exchange the putter, especially considering I just invested in the i500’s and Glide Forged wedges.

Again, I realize the marks are small, but for a premium price, I expect a flawlessly crafted product.

I understand your desire for a perfect thing, but given that's all that was wrong and it's possible to have that same occurrence in the course of play, is it worth it? I don't think it would be to me.

I appreciate your opinion. I have always been meticulous about my clubs. I like when they show some wear, but I expect them to be flawless when I buy them new. There is another scratch on the opposite side of the heel as well as a small nick or dent on the ridge. Again, I realize these aren’t major defections, but when paying a premium price, I expect a club in premium condition.
