Went to final qualifying on Monday at St Annes Old Links. What a fantastic day, no ropes just walking the fairways with the players including a few major winners and Solheim Cup players. Dissapointing to see Creamer just miss out in the 12 man play off. First reserve so hope she gets in.

 

Paula is currently ranked #136/169 in total ballstriking. Her game is definitely in a bad spot.

Ah, be nice to see Hye Jin Choi play again. I really enjoyed her game when she was runner up to Park at the US Open last year, but seems to mostly play in Korea.

 

Yes indeed - she's 10 in the Rolex rankings and has to be a contender. We used to say "nice to see SHP play again" only a couple of years ago and look where she is now. Choi is 19 this year and coming up fast.

Doing my broken record thing on Carlota Ciganda: I adore her and would love to see her play live. She always seems to come alive in a team event--she's really responsible for Spain's having won the first International Crown, and she lights up in the Solheim Cup. Stroke play doesn't seem to get her juices flowing the same way. Too bad the LPGA no longer has a match play event (and WAY too bad because it was pretty close to me)--she'd be fierce in that format.

The Sky broadcast team are so dreadful that words, even English slang, fail me. There is no 'informative' commentary at all, merely anecdotal stuff about what so and so's dog had for breakfast, laced with generous helpings of 'of course' as if we are expected to know what obscure fact applied to some even more obscure person. Patronising stuff in the extreme by Sky.

As a red blooded bloke, I believe the women's game deserves much better and until it is better served money and sponsorship will go elsewhere and grass roots women's golf will continue to play second fiddle.

Huh? Sung Hyun played in the Ricoh last year, finishing 16T.
