Doesn't it depend on the function of the bag? Carry, Cart, Waterproof

I've never owned a Hoofer but they seem to set the standard for carry/stand bags. I did pickup a DLX cart bag and I'm very impressed with the styling and quality build. It's made with a vinyl like material like a staff bag. Should make it easier to keep clean, hope I don't regret getting it in white.

I've got the same bag and I love it.

My Ping 4 Series, though I preferred my old K56. My main grip with this (and it's silly) is that the dividers aren't square, they sit at a downward angle.

They made the dividers straight/square on the latest 4 Series, not sure about the Hoofer Lite dividers

Had 3 Ping Hoofer Vantage team bags in a row. Had to send my 2nd one back in since the support rod broke and the bag collapsed. Sent it in and they restored it for free.

Still using one I bought in 1995, faded pretty good, but nothing has broken, ripped, or fallen apart on it.

I have had several Ping bags and just bought a Traverse for my Clicgear 8.0+, but the only two others I still have are my Vantage and a Hoofer series 2. Both are still in excellent condition and have several hundred rounds walked, rode and drug along on them. I do not currently own any Ping clubs, but I will always have at least one of their bags...

I've been pretty impressed with the "Mascot" series bag that I picked up early last year on closeout. I understand it to be a model that is loosely based on the 4 Series from a few years back?

What might I find in differences between the Mascot and the 2020 Hoofer Lite? Only grips I would have about the Mascot is some occasional club tangle and with a lower back that can be problematic at times, I'd love for it to be about a half to 3/4 of a pound lighter. To be honest I'm not sure what my Mascot weighs all in.

It's very similar. Hoofer Lite is maybe 4 or 6 oz lighter, has a small pocket inside the apparel pocket which is perfect for wallet or phone. Straps are slightly better on the Lite, but the Mascot straps are very good. Basically, I wouldn't switch between those 2 unless looking for a new bag and you really liked the Mascot. Then it would be a seamless transition. That said, I'd definitely choose the 2020 Lite vs the 2018-2019.

I was in middle school and high school golf when the OG Hoofer came out, and they were the only bags you saw out on the golf course. Always loved the look, style, colorways, form and way the bag just plopped down with the stand; a design ahead of it's time for sure. Recently, I went searching for some vintage Hoofer bags and now have a small collection of bags. One, in particular, is very unique, and appears to be part of the very first run of the Hoofer bag. There are notable differences in fabric, the dual straps, the construction of the stand-strap (controlling the stand legs), and there's no "little clock" specifying a date range of production. It literally seems like a gen1 test built version of the bag, and it's really well made, light. The other two bags both have the clock stamp on the base of the bag, one 96/97' and the other from 99'. They're all in great shape, and I really wish Ping would return to the classic style of these bags. They really were premium (and cost as such) bag in the day, and they still hold up in terms of today's bags and styles. I get a lot of compliments from people who recognize the bag; it was just an era of really good design. I'll see about posting some pics eventually.
