Golfing with Elvis

So, after a stressful day on the job I headed directly to the club to hit some balls and have a practice round. As I was on our range (there were only a few people as it was over 100) I noticed the guy right next to me: really thick head of black hair (had to be miserable in that heat), sideburns, even sunglasses that are a little Elvis-like). I tried not to stare. After a few minutes I said, "Boy, I sure wish it'd warm up." His reply sounded just like Elvis, "Yeah, it's mighty balmy..." I headed over and tee'd off on #1 and noticed he was walking by carrying his bag. So, I had to ask. Sure enough, he's Johnny Reno - Elvis impersonator, and a member at our club. I used to be in a band (vocals and guitar) before I became a family man and we talked vocals a little, music, etc. Very nice guy. We plan to play some golf together. You gotta love Elvis...and Elvis impersonators...

I had to dig this photo out. After golf on my league one Monday probably 10 years ago, this guy wanders into the patio of the golf course:

 

 

 

My buddy and I were the last ones there, and we started talking to him. He then pulls out this small bag, which has the red sash and inflatable microphone:

 

 

He did Elvis on the "side", according to him. He sat with us for an hour or so, turned out to be a pretty sad sack. His wife left him, he was alone, and I think, pretty much constantly drinking. He was already half in the bag when he entered the patio.

My dad didn't golf much but he had the Elvis hair style, jet black and wavy, best hair iv'e ever seen. Made Elvis look bald. lol. No way he was changing that look, passed away at 75 and still had every hair he ever had and it was still black and wavy. Brylcreem stock took a nose dive the day dad passed. He loved that stuff.
