Legit or Counterfeit club on ebay

There is a price on a new club on ebay that is about $50 less than what you would expect to pay. The seller has a 99.8% rating with nearly 2000 reviews. Is there any reason to think the club might be counterfeit? In fairness it is a model that is two generations old.

How could we possibly know without a photo of the club in question?

I don't know how anyone here could possibly know based on the info given... I would pay close attention to the return policy on it if there is no actual photo and the price is too good to be true. With that said, I bought a Cobra LTD black still in the wrapper a couple years ago at which I thought was an amazing price for a "new" club. When I got it I found out that even though it was in the wrapper, it had blemishes around the trailing edges, never mentioned... Didn't bother me too much but new, may not mean "perfect".

It could happen, but most of the time, sellers with a lot of feedback and good positive feedback aren't a concern. Also, what kind of club is it? That would matter as well as it seems some clubs are easier, or more prone to counterfeiting. Just check for a return policy and make sure you are protected just in case.

$50 not really a deal for eBay standards.

Based on the description, Is the seller discountgolfcenter? If so, they're fine IMO. Bought from them once before. Just check the review/ratings if it's someone different. Most sellers that have a high volume of transactions will just use stock photos.

Notify the seller to email you with more pictures of the club you want to buy, for examples close up photo of serial number, markings around the shaft.

 

If the seller won't bother to respond your email , you either walk away from this purchase or gambling with it.

 

From my experiences shopping from ebay in the past 4 years, ebay sellers with good ratings ( between 100 pct and 97 pct ) are not scammers.

OP, you should post a link to the item you are referring to. Its really tough to make the real/fake call without more information.
