Driver ferrule problem?

I hit a drive the other day that felt weird (lots of vibration). I think I did catch it high on the face, but it flew high/straight. Looked at the club head and noticed some separating at the top of the adapter. I did hit two more drives in the round, and both felt ok.

 

My question - Does this adapter need to be replaced? I don't want to risk damaging this shaft, which I adore.

Was that a shaft pull from another head/adapter? What’s up with the cosmetic blemish above the adapter on the shaft? Looks almost like the adapter could have come loose?

A few things:

1) I don't think it needs replaced but taking it a club repair shop is warranted, just to check the shaft tip.

2) on the second pic, there seems to be a ring on the paint that may be an indication that the tip "may" have slipped, Unlikely but it can happen

3) cant tell why there is discoloration right at the ferrule and the adapter. Could extra epoxy, bag wear etc. if none of the easy reasons to explain away then again take it to the shop just to make sure.

Yes, this was pulled from another adapter. That old line is just from the old longer adapter.

??? Perhaps not relevant, but is that colored epoxy that oozed out by the ferrule? What type was used? Most is clear or black.

I’m sure more knowledgeable folk will chime in but I think I did this to one of my shafts. Little too much heat on the adapter when I pulled the old one off pretty much ruined the tip of the shaft.

I'm not seeing any separation at the collar. It looks like the ferrule is still seated but there is a load of epoxy from the original build that is at the join of the adapter and ferrule which makes it look like they have separated.

 

It's an ugly shafting job. I would get it pulled and checked out to be safe and make sure a collared ferrule is used when the adapter is put back on.
