Unless he gets a case of "The Spieths", guys tend to burn out these days. Longevity is a rare commodity on tour lately and most fade off for awhile after bursts of success. He's still charging thus far, but we can resume discussion in a couple years and see where he's at. Jordan looked unflappable much the same way but has lost the magic of two years ago, and J Day is another example. All different players and all different styles, but eventually the heroic performances dwindle as the pressure of not winning takes its toll.

 

I think winning is so much easier when you aren't expected to win, and it seems to be distracting to have a target on your back to start each week. Look at DJ, what the heck happened to him this week? Playing to the expectations of others is so much harder than playing to your own, and letting that play decide your fate vs what the odds makers are speculating for the week.

Cabrera was a good European Tour player and came into majors quite late in his career.

 

Koepka could have 3 majors in his 20s, lots of high finishes without wins as well. Has great potential.

Cabrera got late in his pro career to win Majors. He’s as talented as you can get, Phil style. Now this guy Brooks is some serious Major winner. Better than Cabrera, a long way to go yet. Cold as ice, long as Route 66 and brave like almost no other on Tour today. If he Weren’t so low keyed they’d be calling him the next Tiger in the social media. But he’s placing his name through winning Majors, and that’s way more than Ricky, Rahm, Bryson and the band os rockstars.
