Yellow Pro V1's!!!

My prayers have been answered! I dont get too excited about equipment releases these days. I enjoy trying out a new driver or putter, but generally its the just look or feel of the new stuff that entices me to buy something every couple of years. Well today I am pumped about a new equipment release! Word around the internets is Titleist is going to release a YELLOW PRO FRIKIN V1!

I'm a huge fan of yellow balls and a fan of Pro v's. There is something really comforting about yellow balls. Walking up the fairway after hitting one a little off, they are like little beacons of yellow happiness that say "hey buddy, Im right here, and Im definitely not a mushroom!" I think I play better with yellow balls. The thing that irks me the most in this game is losing balls. I feel like yellow balls help keep those cortisol levels a little lower. I always know which is mine and I have yet to have one disappear in thick rough, which is just about the most annoying thing in the whole game.

The more urethane yellow balls out there, the better. I just wish they weren't $4 bucks a pop!

Overwhelmingly, the most popular ball on tour is the pro v1/prov1x. I wonder how many will switch over to yellow. I guess the added value of having a more visible ball might be lost on a pro because they play with caddies and they tend to have a ring of people standing around their ball when they miss the fairway.

I'd try it for sure

I played with a yellow and black Callaway Tervis ball ystdy for three holes and liked the visibility

Didn't like it when putting though, seizure inducing when rolling

I can see a yellow ball at 239 vs a white at 130 .. way easier with my eyes. Typically use them in the Fall when the leaves are down but haven't loved the feel of the Srixon's in the past

Absolutely, so much easier to see from far away. It just makes playing more enjoyable. You spot your ball from far away, then you can chat or something as you walk toward it. Instead of squinting like Mr Magoo until you are standing over what you think might be your ball, only to find out its some other guy's topflight from 1991.

I must be the only one losing my mind about this. Yellow pro v's... best equipment release in the past 5 years, no 10 years.

Years ago I asked the regional rep in Texas. He said a couple of things: The pros weren’t asking for them and they couldn’t quite get the color to hold the way they wanted, but they were working on it. I guess the money they were losing to Srixon and Callaway finally motivated them to get it right, regardless of the pro play.

I’ll probably buy a couple boxes when they finally release them. But if this is really true, probably look to early 2019.

The Vice Pro is in lime green and is a great ball. Buy 5 dozen and balls are around $2 a ball. Pro V1 is an amazing ball but I am not sure it is worth twice the money for most amateur golfers when Vice Pro is available with very comparable performance.

Im going to try that vice. But I always wonder if these cheaper internet balls are inferior in some way that cant be seen by the naked eye. I recall watching something where they toured the titleist facility and they had two balls, one that sliced and another that hooked. The difference in the two could not be seen by the naked eye when held. Essentially, the dimples were slightly imperceptibly shallower on one side. Makes you wonder...

Recently, I've been playing cheaper (sub $20) suryln balls. But if Im going to cough up another $10 for something that sticks to the green, I want the piece of mind knowing that its perfect.

.....I know, they've got me with their BS marketing... Hook line and sinker

I want orange!

I've been playing yellow Srixons Z-stars all season (with a sleeve of yellow Callaway chromesofts mixed in). Personally, I don't find yellow to be much better than white for seeing balls at a distance while in sunny conditions. If it's overcast or cloudy, then the yellow definitely helps.

That said, I'll probably give these yellow ProV1s a shot once at some point.

More top-end balls in bright colors can only be a good thing.

Played V1Xs for years, but started having a hard time following them in flight a few years back. So I switched to yellow balls and have had very good luck with the chrome soft.

Titleist is going to have to work to get me back.

Oh, and I heard similar stories about Titleist and their refusing to make a yellow ball "because the pros aren't asking for it". What a bunch of arrogant SOBs.

I had some Srixon yellows / greens I left on my backyard putting green over the winter ... the sun faded them out badly. Surprised me actually. Maybe it was the sun and the snow?

very - don't you think? he quoted my post to tell me to read the article. the OP provided no article hence my reply. you're going to tell me to read something including "an article" - include that article. it's not hard either way. i'm not interested in giving MGS clicks. :::peace emoji:::

Now, you may have heard some of the rumors out there that this was the year that we would finally introduce a yellow Pro V1. Well, I’m here to let Team Titleist know that the rumors aren’t rumors at all.

That’s right, after speaking with our product team I am able to confirm that we will be launching (sorry, I couldn’t avoid the pun) yellow Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls in 2019.

So Titleist takes forever to come out with a yellow urethane ball. I guess that means they will get on the matte finish ball bandwagon around 2025?
