Srixon Z star XV, Pro V1X, TP5x, which feels softer to you

klbcecklbcec Members Posts: 517 ✭✭✭✭✭
I feel like the Pro V1x feels softer than the XV and spins a little more around the green and with wedges. I haven't tried to TP5x. Interested in others' opinions.

Thinking about a ball change. Played the XV's for years. Just played the Pro V1x for a while. Really liked the ball from 100 yards in. Wondering whether to stick with the V1x or give the TP5X a shot.

Not a fan of Callaway balls.

I've played all these balls for over different periods of time, the XV for the better part of a year. The TP5x feel noticeably softer than the other two to me.

TP5x feels softer like the Chrome Soft but still prefer XV hands down. they're so long off the tee.

feel typically equals sound and (as with so many things) is incredibly subjective. the XV sounds the worst, followed by the prov1x, followed by the tp5x. to me.

still playing the 2014 b330s on rounds that really matter, and will dabble with trying out new stuff.

unfortunately, i haven't found a suitable upgrade as of yet. the latest XV comes the closest, except off the putter where it feels like a 2piece. to me.

I think the TM ball feel softest to me. Srixon feel the hardest. Whike the Prov1 feeling just right.

For me the TP5X definitely feels softer than a XV. The XV also sounds clicky off my putter.

TP5X .... best all around ball on the market.
  • soregongolfersoregongolfer Members Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭✭✭✭
I'd say the two balls you're considering are pretty equal from 100 yards and in. As you know, the XV is a little harder and spins less.

The new XV feels fantastic off the putter. I haven't tried the new TP5x but the old one is quite similar to how the XV feels now.

I wouldn't go off the 2018 feedback unless you are buying previous generation balls.
