I have been doing a fair amount of experimenting.... Tried 790's, X Forged, Cobra F8, and a few driver shafts... Switched back to Titleist irons and woods for the first time in two years and shot a career low 68 with new irons, driver and fairway. Probably never going to stray again, considering even a Titleist tattoo to show my loyalty. :tomato:

I am still tinkering with the driver shaft and maybe iron shafts but those will be down the road after I get some more rounds in with the AP2s. 917 driver is very straight and after one round on a familiar course it’s just as long as the M1 I had been playing for the last year. The 917F2 with the Tensei white is a great combo off the tee and fairway. Nice high flight and long…. Going to order some SM7 Raw wedges this week along with a Tensei V3 to test.

Great looking bag as always Scratch. Something to be said about sticking to what works, regardless of brand. Especially with irons, chasing more forgiveness/thinner faces leading to those 2 or 3 "wow" shots per round. It makes it hard to be objective and look at the big picture.

 

My best round, 66 a few years back, was with 3-PW blades and X100's. Hollow/fast/forgiving irons are fun to hit but stepping back I'm not seeing any benefit in scoring ability.

 

Anyway, everything is looking really solid. What lofts and grinds are you going with in the SM7?
