Which Vokey for you? SM4 to SM7

Which one is the best for you and why? Vokey Sm4, SM5, SM6 or SM7?

SM5’s for me too if I had to pick one, I liked the 4’s though and I have a set of 2’s in my back up bag. I haven’t hit the 6’s or 7’s yet because I don’t really like the look of the backs of them, I’m sure they work just fine though. :)

I voted sm6 but I haven’t hit the 7s but plan to try them later this year.

I play a SM4 56 degree. Essentially an F grind.

 

I hit an SM7 56 F grind. Felt the same. SM7 was lower trajectory.

Honestly, I don't think I could tell the difference. I currently play both the 5 and the 7. I'm not a bad wedge player (3.7 cap, and wedge play is a strength), but I'm not good enough to define a difference between the 5 and 7.

That being said, I think the 4’s were my favorite.

SM5 for me. Love the shape and size of the heads. They perform really well for my swing. I have 2 extra sets, same specs as sig, so im set for a bit lol.

I have tried all of them, but only owned the SM7. That period of ownership is now coming to a close. I don’t know why, but compared to wedges from Callaway, Ping, TM and KaBoom Baby Golf, I can’t seem to impart as many revs on the ball. Great look and feel though...just not the clubs for me.

SM4 for me, particularly the 60.07 M grind. The sole on the 6 & 7 is a bit too wide for my liking.

 

I would also go for the 200 series if it was an option.

I believe the SM7 is his best work on club design - cog is towards center, ball flight, etc, but would like more grind choices, and the club itself for several generation has looked a bit bulky to me. Spins great, though.

SM6 K grind my choice. I also like my AP1 48 and 53 set wedges a lot. Not missing anything by not playing the Vokeys.

SM6 by far. I was never a Vokey guy but the SM6s have been fantastic for me.

SM6 for me. 52, 56, and 60. Although I don't really need the 60. I'll pick up the SM7s at some point next year or 2020. I don't normally buy the newest line when they come out.

The SW and LW are too bulky looking for me (I know, others will disagree as to my opinion on the look, and that's okay) - I'd like a 10 deg K grind with a low leading edge, for example. For me, I like a more slimmed down look - give me the Ping Stealth or Glide Forged. For something compact and odd looking, give me Edel. Bulky wedges off tight lies don't give me confidence on tough chip shots around the green - they limit creativity.

 

As to the SM6 or SM7, the 7 is just a refinement of the 6, so if you can find a 6 you like and save bucks...

I've had 4s, 6s and got 7s and I went back to my 6s pretty quickly. Mostly because I really don't like the D grind, but gave it a try. S grind works best for me.
