Went shopping for shorts, and the winner is...

I was needing another pair of golf shorts. I'm a dad with a couple of kids to feed...always looking for value for my $. Went to our local maga golf shop. They know me there..... The sales kid pushed a few different shorts my way - Adidas, Ping...When I see an $80 price tag the shorts better be really good. After trying a couple pairs I was drawn to the Linksoul rack. That's where I found the winner. Dark gray Boardwalker shorts for about 2/3 the price of the other stuff I tried, and what seemed to be a superior quality. Played my firs round in them today and I really like them. Just thought I'd pass on this note for those looking for good quality and a competitive price. I often just find golfish shorts on the rack at Target and have done ok with that. These Linksoul shorts are quite nice, compared to the other stuff at the golf shop.

Not sure where you are buying, but Linksoul are pricier, or at least as much, as Adidas or Puma etc...they all retail for $60-80, but can be found for under $40 with relative ease if you don't mind doing a little hunting and are patient.

 

For me, I wear a size 34, but with my middle aged love handles and gut, the slight elastic waist of Adidas are hands down the most comfortable golf bottoms I've worn. Plus they have the nice rubberized logos on the inside to help keep your shirts tucked in.

Linksoul Boardwalkers and Addidas Ultimate 365 shorts are my current favorites. Both are high quality and very comfortable.

I have a pair of Puma and a pair of Adidas shorts. Also have 2 random no namers I got from Wally world. The brand name is obviously better but $15 vs $60... it can be tough to justify spending 3x more when functionally they are all the same.

 

The brand name stuff is generally lighter, with larger pockets and a bit of a stretch fit. That's the only advantage I can find.

brother you don't have to tell me twice about them. i've got a few pair and wear them constantly, on and off the course. they're the perfect length for me, which i always have a tough time finding at 5'9". love the casual look they're going for with them, and basically the entire linksoul line.

I just got two pairs of the Costco Greg Norman shorts.. For $16 - you can't beat the feel or the look - the cut and inseam is just right for me, being 5'9. I think they're just as comfortable as the Travis Mathew shorts I own.

I was at a local Ross store and picked up a pair of Puma Essentials golf shorts for $24.99. If you're willing to dig around stores like Ross, Marshalls or TJ Maxx you could find some good stuff.
