After reading many posts on equipment to general to instructional to tour topics. I got to believe we all have said something or worse,wrote in a post that we believe exposed our complete @$$h0leness on a topic

 

Here is some of mine of the course of my time of golf. Titleist sucks. Arguing with a instructor on this site about the golf swing. That was truly epic stupidity.

I learned never say too much bad about pro golfers. It always comes back to biting you in your backside. Seen DeChambeau and Tiger trashed out here or questioned. When I was in my late 20s saw a show where a young kid from California was going to the next big thing . And I thought yeah right. It was a very young Tiger Woods. These are but a few.

Lots of things are said and done about something you are passionate about. Sometimes you say dumb things about things you don't know much about.

 

 

People will always say smart and dumb things and they'll say it in a nice or a****** type of way, just how People work.

By being thoughtful first and not making Word not allowedinine statements. Not saying we shouldn’t be free to make them. But let’s be real we all have some regrets . If you don’t you are doomed to repeat it.

Be respectful of others and their opinions as hard as it may be some time.

 

Everyone has something to offer. It's just a matter of people willing to listen and not be condescending and to be nice. That's how I like to live, but like others, I fail but constantly try to get back there.

Well as some users have said I have learned in all 25+ business years to let confrontational e-mails and phone calls sit for a day or 2. Reflection over a single malt and a sleep or 2 most often leads to smoother reactions and forward progress on both sides

 

In terms of wrx, I try my best not to be too sarcastic or snarky or judgmental .. even though I am sure I've blown that in many spots over time. (It depends on the reader, some folks don't get sarcasm and some people misinterpret the tone intended from written words). We were all new here at some point and sometimes searches do not pull up old topics

 

As one ages I feel you become better at seeing other people's side of any situation. The world is certainly lacking in empathy as every year rolls by

I learned to get teh dumbness out years ago thank god. I now speak very little and let people talk. There is no need, i dont even argue with stupid people on the course, isnt worth the headache.

I agree but some reporters are afraid of athlete backlash. He is not one of them but I love when they give it back to him and he turtles the way he did with Sherman.

I tend to have a point of view and speak what’s on my mind. Has worked for me in magical ways in real life, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been banned from WRX as a result:)

Me too. I have done time in WRX jail. Although even in real life that hasn't worked out well all the time either. I remember one time I derided a company email along the lines of "we are cutting back further on benefits but we are confident that this will inspire more confidence in our workforce and will lead us on to greatness", and sent my sarcastic response to a co-worker, not knowing he had been let go a week before so all his emails went straight to my manager. He called me in and I found out that (even though he loves the movie Office Space), he did not think my observations were appropriate or funny, and was very disappointed with my point of view.

When I first started here, actually questioned the wisdom of Monte..........was not rude, just prodded him a bit, thankful he ignored me.....but I was like 'who the f*** is this Monte guy'...........still embarrassed by it.

 

Or/and

 

Conveying why I hold certain appeals of the game or equipment. Folks don't care about differing POV, they only want to affirm their beliefs. Has little implications in golf but for greater world , we probably will live to regret.

 

Getting into back & forth's with the "Troll". The dull tool that gets kicks out of toying or prodding for no other reason than exercising some perverse sense of superiority.

 

That all being said, the upside has been tremendous. Light years of learning on how the high level swing actually works and just the gabbing feeds the greater passion. It's all good.
