I just came to post this. I ordered 4 dozen.

Maybe I should order another 2

Now *that* is a ball deal, right there. Under a dollar a ball is the jackpot we all look for.

Doesn't really have anything to do with losing them.

If a ball is fortunate enough to make it through and entire round it then goes in the shag bag.

If a ball hits a cart path it goes in the shag bag.

If a ball hits a tree and becomes discolored it goes in the shag bag.

If a ball misbehaves badly it goes in the shag bag.

If I play five or six or more days per week it doesn't take long to go through a dozen (or two).

And two things I never run out of on the golf course: Golf balls and beer.

And not necessarily in that order............

Nice find on the Q's.

Went to the Academy Sports near me and they had two boxes of Q-Star Tours on the clearance shelf marked at 19.99 but rang up at 11.24.

After I paid, I walked back over to the clearance shelf where they had a least 20 boxes of the yellow NXT Tour S’s marked at 29.99. Took a box up to customer service and they rang up at 14.99. Bought a few boxes of those. Great deal on both purchases.

QST available online for $16.50 from Academy. So were Titleist Velocity. Not urethane, but solid price.

Srixon soft feel also on sale, $11 and change.

Looks like the QST is out of stock on Academy Sports, 11.23 for the Soft Feel, previous gen right?

Yep. Both were online free shipping.

testy testy..lol.......was just curious as to why people buy 6 dz at a time. Seems like a waste of money unless you lose a lot of balls...

Re-read forum title for what you evidently wandered into for no particular reason.

Review basic math.

Reconsider your implied suggestion that bad golfers only buy larger quantities.

I'm a bad golfer, trust me. wasn't meaning to imply that at all. it was just a question as to WHY so many at once? I lose balls too but 6 dz at any given time is like a 6 season supply...no need to get mad, sorry I came off like that. it was a serious question as to why you buy so many at once, that's all.....plus ive posted many god sales here, so I'm aware of the thread

If a dozen balls last you an entire season, you’re not a bad golfer...or you only play a few rounds a year.

I got what you meant, and it's a valid question. I feel like we are all a little obsessed with golf on this site and each person's obsession manifests itself in it's own way. For example, I have an aversion to big purchases which is why all of my clubs are either purchased on sale or a few years old at a deep discount. I just can't bring myself to spend big money on a new club, but I can easily stand spending $20, $30, $100 here and there, even though I realize it all adds up in the end. I also cannot pass up a deal on golf balls. I love knowing I have a s*** ton of options when I go play on the weekend. It's the game within the game. It's the thing that keeps your obsessive golf flame burning while you are stuck in an office or elsewhere. It's just something to keep us excited. I have 32 dozen balls right now and (luckily) I haven't lost a ball in the past 4 rounds. I understand how illogical that sounds, but it's just my thing. I also like to give balls away to friends sometimes and I love spreading the word about these deals to my golfing buddies

here’s my take on it: balls aren’t going to get cheaper. and most people have determined the age (within reason) of a ball doesn’t affect performance in a negative way. so if you found a ball you like, and have found it for cheap, buy a lot.

Now, drawbacks include: new ball technology coming out that would benefit you, equipment change that alters how well a ball works for you, desire to tinker, et al

That's funny because I am the same way about certain things and started collecting putters this season, only to quickly realize I cannot afford it!..but for some reason I was drawn to buy 3 putters this year. 2 Ping Vault 2.0 and a Wilson 8802. Plus I already have a Cameron a never use and "Michelson" Odyssey. Keep the flame burning as you say. But now I want to sell off the putters I have never used and get some new mizuno irons....:)
