Cameron Concept X putter

I actually really like the look from below but from the top the wings just look out of place. Beautiful finish though. They need so make the Cameron selects in that finish and I would pick one up.

Need to do away with the inserts. They feel horrible, to me at least. The 2012 select was a much better feeling putter.

I wanted to like this putter but at 6 bills I just can't like it that much....... And since it's a limited production rollout, how many are there actually? there are multiple outlets selling these on pre-order so it doesn't seem to be that limited. I would spend maybe 450.00 tops.

I guess I’m in the minority here but I’m really digging the look of this putter. The price on the other hand is ridiculous. Going to try to trade in some old clubs I no longer use to get this putter down to a price I can live with. I’ll obviously have to roll some putts at my local Golf Mart/Galaxy before making the switch, but I’m very intrigued by this new addition to Scotty Cameron line. 8/31 can’t come soon enough.

Have fallen away from Scotty’s otc putters. The only other Scotty I see myself buying is a CT 009m in carbon.

I feel like SC has gotten lazy over the past couple years by not changing or adding any new putter. I feel as though this is an overcompensation, which to me this putter looks ridiculous.

I’ll be the contrarian and I admit that I like it. Is it as sexy as a regular Newport 2, of course not, but I do like the “concept.” I mean, let’s be honest, there aren’t many (if any at all) high MOI putters that offer enhanced stability that are all that attractive.

I'm holding out judgement until I get it in hand to test. I like the idea of it and honestly I like the looks of it. What I don't understand is what makes this over $200 more then an X5 when its the same basic materials.

After seeing more of the concept X, I'm starting to reconsider and maybe might buy one. I would need to see the size of it against another putter as it looks pretty big. Does anyone know if it's longer than a normal newport?

It almost looks like a PXG Mustang. This putter 100% milled without an insert could have potential. The insert, with its cheap 3M double sided tape in between the insert and the body is not what I call quality or good feel.

Just put mine into the bag. It is not a sexy thing, but neither was the original Futura. The putter has a good look and the feel is fine. I like my results so far, the grip is not my favorite so I’ll probably pull it and and a GTR 1.0. I would try it before you discount it. Not everyone is going to like it, but for those of us who find it a better option we win.

I got my concept 2 putter and looked at it and immediately was going to sell it but I rolled a few on the putting green and I might have to keep it. It really rolls the ball well and is very stable and distance control is great.

 

I really didn’t notice the wings as much putting as I was focusing more on the ball but you could definitely tell they increase the amount of moi the putter has.

The concept is a good idea but hoping it will frame the ball well for my eye. I still recall how the Notchback was too cutting edge for this blade putter;P

I bought the Concept X 02 as the PGASuperstore had 4 in stock (unfortunately they wouldn't let you putt with it in store) so I bought it. I immediately took it home to test against my TM Spider. My first thoughts on the Concept X was that it didn't have much feel, or it was really null feeling to me. I hit 12 putts with it and 12 putts with my Spider, I said to myself the Concept X is going back..... I then told myself stop, have some lunch, get warmed up and try it again. I have a 12 foot putting green in my basement that I practice with every weekend. I took my time rotating between the Concept X and TM Spider, 12 putts with one then 12 putts with the other. After 48 total putts the TM spider holed 22 putts vs. the Concept X 02 with holed 18 putts. It was close but my personal opinion is the Concept X 02 is lacking feel but could be a keeper in the right hands just not mine. My misses were right or short with the Concept X and just right with the Spider (burning the edge). I ended up taking the Concept X 02 back. My observations; the Blade is just too long and looks too big, I do like the wings as it's a stable putter but the feel is just not there for me. i'd say if you have money too burn get the Concept X series and work with it if you can get past the feel, I couldn't.....
