Taylormade hi-toe

Anyone been checking the swingweight on their Hi Toe?

The 60 degree lob I ordered at +3/4" with the KBS 120 Flt shaft that I thought was still a counterbalanced design turned up at E6!

I'm struggling to understand that given stock is supposed to be D5 with Hi Rev so that's 11sw pts for 3/4" and a slightly different KBS

I'm seeing a lot of Hi Toe action in my future. I love the 60 and my 50* is not my baby any more and the 54* doesn't ever get used or touched.

I'm not liking to admit it but, TM is slowly taking over my bag again. Had an M3 but needed to get rid of that but, these 790s are performing decently (only there until the new Cobra MBs are released) and I love the Hi-Toe 60*. Good job TM.

How'd you get your 790's 4* weak?

I've seen these in person, they're basically a MG with a slightly higher toe and copper finish. They aren't doing the full score lines across the face like the current Lob wedge high toe's have. As for different grinds at retail I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing there will be.

Well that's sad. I love the look of the full grooves on the face.

But fully understand why they are not needed on "Gap" wedge lofts.

I'd do some things I'm not proud of for a low bounce 60 hi-toe

They are definitely already out in the wild, the last one I hit had a straighter leading edge then the current one on the market. Not sure if that was going to be the retail version, or not but definitely something different

This is the tour version I believe, my friend has a 60 degree with different grind and a straight leading edge...

One thing I noticed is the hi-toes that are in my clubs shop are the standard versions however they have a silver face...my hi-toe that I got when they first came out off TM site is the bronze/gold face....so not sure if they saw everyone hating on the gold face and changed it to silver...seems that's what has happened.

Also my friend did tell me they will have a black finish hi-toe in the near future but this could have just been a rumor.

I’m enjoying my Hi Toe 58*. I’d be interested to see the 54* as I have no trouble hitting full shots with my 58*.

After trying out the 60HT I immediately wondered why they didn’t have a SW, and now they will! I imagine the gap wedges are to match up your set, which I can see why, and can now sell more wedges at $169.99.

I hope they make a wide low bounce lob option. I don’t see many of the pros with unaltered ATV grinds.

We’ll have to see how the RTX-4 work out. So many good wedges out there!

Bought them like that from a TM rep. Had it validated through my shop. I was skeptical as well but, hey, pleasant surprise.

If you're not hitting open face shots, what's the purpose of the hi toe?

I guess that's why they will still only be offered from 54 and weaker because the particular benefit is when you open the face, especially with bunker shots

There’s a 52 as well. Had one in my hands.

Does that have a modified grind then so it is less of a Hi - toe?

Can't say that I really noticed. I just looked at it briefly. I paid more attention to the fact that the grooves didn't go all the way across the face and I was much more interested in checking out the GAPR clubs.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had a hit with a Hi Toe a few weeks ago and really liked it

Unsure which loft to go for though....currently play 52 &58 in SM6 and not sure whether to just swap out the 58 or get the 60 and swap the 58 for a 56?

I never seem to generate much spin on pitches/chips and am more comfortable laying it open and playing a flop than a pitch which is why I lean towards the 60
